Using online help

The “Task Dependency” page appears.

Note: Help Icon Clicking this icon available near certain fields takes you to the help page of the respective field.

Project Code

The unique code identifying the project.

Note: The predecessors cannot be defined for the projects which are in “Closed” and “Short Closed” status.

The system displays the following details in the header.

Project Name

The name of the project.

Mode

Use the drop-down list box to select the mode for the task. The combo is loaded with “Task Dependency”, “Milestone Dependency”, “Hold Task”, “Release Task” and "SO Line - WBS ID Mapping". The system displays “Task Dependency” by default on launch of the page.

Task Group

Use the drop-down list box to specify the task group for the project. The combo is loaded with all task group mapped to the task. The system displays “Blank” by default on launch of the page.

Task Code

Use the drop-down list box to specify the task code for the project. The combo is loaded with all task codes mapped to the selected task group. The system displays “Blank” by default on launch of the page.

Sub Contracted Tasks

Use the drop-down list box to specify whether the task is sub contracted or not. The combo is loaded with “Yes”, “No” and “All”. The system displays “All” by default on launch of the page.

From WBS ID

The starting number in the range of WBS ID from which the dependency details of the task has to be retrieved. You can enter the WBS ID in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all dependency details whose WBS ID is similar to the code entered here. Leave this field blank, to retrieve all the task dependency details.

To WBS ID

The ending number in the range of WBS ID until which the dependency details of the task has to be retrieved. The system retrieves all dependency details whose WBS ID is similar to the code entered here. Leave this field blank, to retrieve all the task dependency details.

From Work Area

The starting range of work area from which the task dependency details has to be retrieved. You can enter the work area in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all task dependency details whose work area is similar to the code entered here. Leave this field blank, to retrieve all the task dependency details.

To Work Area

The ending range of work area until which the task dependency details has to be retrieved. The system retrieves all task dependency details whose work area is similar to the code entered here. Leave this field blank, to retrieve all the task dependency details.

The system retrieves and displays the details in “Dependency Details” multiline.

When the mode is selected as “Task Dependency”

WBS ID.

The work break down structure of a project for which the predecessor is being set.

The system displays the following details in the “Dependency Details” multiline:

Task Code

The task code of the WBS ID.

Task ID

The unique task ID of the WBS ID.

OU

Use the drop-down list box to specify the OU of the predecessor task.

Project Code

The project code of the predecessor task.

Predecessor WBS ID.

The work breakdown structure ID which shall be the predecessor.

The system displays the following details in the “Dependency Details” multiline:

Predecessor Task Code

The task code applicable for the entered predecessor WBS ID.

Predecessor Task ID

The unique task ID applicable for the entered predecessor WBS ID.

Min % age Completion

The minimum percentage of the predecessor task to be completed before any subsequent task can begin.

When the mode is selected as “Milestone Dependency”

Milestone Code

Use the drop-down list box to choose the milestone code for which the task dependency is to be defined. The combo is loaded with all milestones mapped to the project.

The system displays the following details in the “Milestone Details” group box:

Milestone Description

The description of milestone.

Milestone %age Schedule

Use the drop-down list box to choose  the percentage schedule for the milestone. The combo is loaded with values as defined in the “Maintain Milestone” component.

WBS ID.

The work break down structure of the project which is to be mapped to the milestone.

Help facility available.

The system displays the following details in the “Dependency Details” multiline:

Task Code

The task code of the WBS ID.

Task ID

The unique task ID of the WBS ID.

Min % age Completion

The minimum percentage of the task to be completed to satisfy the specified %age schedule of the milestone.

When the mode is selected as “Hold Task”

WBS ID.

The work break down structure of the project which has to be held (for which further reporting should not be allowed).

The system displays the following details in the “Dependency Details” multiline:

Task Code

The task code of the WBS ID.

Task ID

The unique task ID of the WBS ID.

Work Area

The work area to which the task belongs to.

When the mode is selected as “Release Task”

WBS ID.

The work break down structure of the project for which reporting has to be Re-enabled.

The system displays the following details in the “Dependency Details” multiline:

Task Code

The task code of the WBS ID.

Task ID

The unique task ID of the WBS ID.

Work Area

The work area to which the task belongs to.

Status

The status of WBS ID.

When the mode is selected as “SO Line – WBS ID Mapping”

WBS ID.

The work break down structure of a project for which the predecessor is being set.

The system displays the following details in the “Dependency Details” multiline:

Task Code

The task code of the WBS ID.

Work Area

The work area to which the task belongs.

Task Description

The detailed description of the task.

Sale Order No.

A unique number identifying the sale order.

Sale Order Line No.

A unique number identifying the sale order line level details.

Ordering Point

The origin point where the sale order is raised.

The system displays the following details in the “Dependency Details” multiline:

Quantity

The total number of quantity required for the sale order.

UOM

The unit of measurement of the quantity.

Auto Close

Select the check box to auto generate the Service Order for that WBS ID reported quantity.

Remarks

Any remarks pertaining to the sale order – WBS ID mapping.

Note:

1. When you click the “Maintain” pushbutton in “Hold Task” mode, the system holds the selected WBS IDs and changes the status to “Held”.

2. Similarly when you click the “Maintain” pushbutton in “Release Task” mode, the system releases the selected WBS IDs which are in held status.

The system displays the following details in the “Data History” group box:

Created By

The login ID of the user who defined the task dependency details.

Created Date

The date and time on which the task dependency details were set.

Last Modified By

The login ID of the user who last modified the task dependency details.

Last Modified Date

The date and time on which the task dependency details were last modified.
