This page allows you to define zones under a warehouse. A warehouse can be split into zones for storage of items. Zones can be defined only if the warehouse type is “Normal” and the warehouse status is “Active”. You can enter a unique number identifying a zone (within the warehouse) along with its description. Zones could be of type “Normal” or “Free”. A “Normal” zone can further be divided into bins where particular items can be stored. This type of storage hierarchy enables easy traceability of items.
You can also specify the picking priority for the various zones in the warehouse. At the time of issuing a particular item from the warehouse, the availability of the item will be checked in the various zones based on the priority specified here. You can create zones using this page only if no zones have already been defined for the particular warehouse. This page will not be deployed if the warehouse does not exist in the login OU or if the storage type of the warehouse is “Free”.
