Implement Engineering Change Request – A summary of the activity

The engineering change can be implemented or resolved.  Once approved for implementation, new revision details can be included. For implementing an engineering change, the corresponding engineering change request (ECR) raised is selected. You can select the appropriate status to implement the request initiated. If the status of the engineering change is authorized, then the request details are retrieved and the ECR is updated to “Authorized”. If the status is selected as “Implemented”, then the request details are retrieved and new revision item details can be specified. You must also specify the valid dates of the new revision of the item created. If the status is selected as “Resolved”, then the request details are not implemented due to the long process of engineering change and non-coverage of the benefits.

You can also delete the item details by making the appropriate selection in the multiline. Once an engineering change has been implemented, the corresponding changes affects the product structures, process plan and work order associated to the item. Accordingly, the product structure and process plans are updated. Also all the work orders not yet released are considered for change and the changes are updated.
