Mass Change Product Structure – A summary of the activity

You can replace the modifiers of an output item in the product structure with the modifiers or the details of an old planning group in the planning bill with those of the new planning group. The new modifiers are defined on each product structure based on the conditions. The changed product structure can be applied to all the work orders, which use this item. The screen presents search criteria to select the item/planning group of the product structure/planning bill for replacement. On entering the details in the search criteria the system retrieves the corresponding product structure/planning bill details in the multiline. Search criteria captures the warehouse, control units, status and product structure category to retrieve the related product structures of the item.

You can replace the standard lot size and batch size, lead-time, minimum and maximum order quantities, control unit and status, warehouse, validity dates of the item/planning group. These details are updated in the relevant work orders by marking update work order field. For each replace entry, the system sets the action value “Replace” in the multiline. By default, the action value is set “None”. The product structure gets updated with the newly replaced data and a new mass change reference number is generated by the system.
