Bill Of Material Model – An overview

Introduction

This component helps to define the Bill of Material for an Item. The Bill of material establishes the relationship between each of the items and their parent. Product structures are used for the purpose of defining bills of materials of items. The product structure is a single level of Bill of material, containing a parent and its immediate child. Different types of Bill of material are supported in the product including Production Bill, Engineering Bill, Costing Bill, Subcontract Bill, Option Bill and Planning Bill. Items can have a standard Bill and many alternate Bills as may be needed.
