The system displays the default value based on the value saved through the save template field. Otherwise, the system displays the “Blank” defined for the login user.

Std. Order Qty.

The standard quantity of the item or planning group for which requirements of the bill of resource have been defined. It is the quantity of a particular item that is ordered from the plant or a supplier or issued as a standard quantity to the production process.

Use Item Lead Time

Select the checkbox to indicate the use of the item lead-time during the rough-cut capacity planning (RCCP). The system leaves the box “Unchecked” by default on launch of the page.

Save Template

Select the check box to save the default fields like Status, Bill of Resource Type, Maintained By, Production Controller that can be viewed when the user revisits the screen. If the defaults (if any) exist then the system retrieves the defaults saved earlier.

The system displays the following detail in the “Resource Details” multiline:

Res Seq.

The sequence number identifying the position sequence of the resource attached to the bill of resource automatically generated by the system.

Resource No.

The number identifying the resource. Mandatory

Press <Enter> key.

The resource should not be left blank and should exist in the resource master. The resource should be valid and should be in “Active” status. The system retrieves the resource details for the resource.

Help facility available.

Activity Desc.

The description of the activity. Mandatory

Cap Units Reqd.

The capacity units required of the resource. Mandatory. The capacity units should not be left blank and should be greater than zero.

Capacity Basis

Use the drop down list box to select the capacity basis. The system displays "Fixed" by default on launch of the page. The options available are:

  • Fixed – indicates that the capacity of the resource required is fixed.

  • Variable – indicates that the capacity of the resource required is variable.

Run Time

The time required for actual processing of items or the time required for the run sub-activity of an activity selected. Mandatory. The run time should not be blank and should be greater than zero.

Time UOM

Use the drop-down list box to select the time unit of measure of the run time field. Mandatory. You can select from “Hrs”, “Mins”, “Secs” or “Days” . The system displays “Hrs” by default on launch of the page.

Run Qty.

The quantity of the output item of the activity that can be produced in the time specified in Run Time. Mandatory. The run quantity should not be blank and should be greater than zero.

Activity Basis

Use the drop-down list box to select the activity basis. Activity Basis is used to arrive at time required for completing a job or work order. You can select from “Fixed” or “Variable”. The system displays “Variable” by default on launch of the page.

Offset

The time (in percentage of the manufacturing lead time of the item/Planning group) when the Requirements on the specified Resource would arise.

PP Usage Qty.

The usage quantity is identified when more than one critical resource exists at different levels of the product structure and planning has to be done at higher level (RCCP). In such case, the resource requirements at the lower level need to be converted to the net resource requirements at the higher level. The PP usage quantity is the required quantity of the of the child item, corresponding to the parent, that is to be used in the calculation of capacity requirements of resources.

The system displays the following in the “Resource Details” multiline:

Total Time

The total time of the activity. The time is calculated depending upon the number of times the lot size or standard order qty is greater than or equal to the Run Qty. This number is multiplied with the Run Time field to arrive at the total time.

Source Item Code

The code identifying the item. This field is identified when more than one critical resource exists at different levels of the product structure and planning has to be done at higher level (RCCP). In such case, the resource requirements at the lower levels need to be converted to the net resource requirements at the higher levels. The source item is that item at the lower level, which requires a critical resource.

Entry Type

Use the drop-down list box to select the entry types. You can select “Manual” and this value is set as the default value.

The system ensures that the login user has “All” permission to the “Maintained By " control unit of the bill of resource. The bill of resource cannot be created in “Inactive” status. The system checks the status of the bill of resource. If the status is “Draft”, then the system creates a link with the planning bill if the bill of resource has been defined for a planning group for the same plant and uom. The system also saves the details with PP status as “Draft”. The system ensures that at least one row in the multiline should be present. The system saves the bill of resource details.

The login user ID and the system date are updated in the “Created By” and “Created Date” fields.

To proceed, carry out the following

The system displays the following:

Created By

The login user ID of the person who has created the bill of resource.

Created Date

The date on which the bill of resource was created.

Create Bill of Resources – An overview

Activity overview

The planner may or may not have access to the production planning. In such a case, you need to prepare the bill of resources for the planning group or the item code. The bill of resource is used in the planning layer to plan for the resources and the activities attached to the planning group or the item code.

You can capture the resource and the activity details by entering the same in the multiline. The capacity and time details also forms a part of the definition. A bill is identified as belonging to a particular user defined type. These types help in finding when details on a particular bill of resource are required. A bill of resource is similar to process plan that identifies the activities and their arrangement during actual production.

You can make use of this screen to determine the bill of resource to be created for a group of resources for long term planning either for a planning group or an item. Necessary help screens are provided to search and retrieve the bill of resource, planning group, item, production unit of measure and resource details. On entering the necessary details, you can create the bill of resource for a planning group or an item.
