This activity allows you to create a bill of distribution that determines the stock transfer of items between warehouses. Tell me more
Select the “Create Bill Of Distribution” link under the “Supply Chain Model“ business component.
The “Create Bill Of Distribution” page appears.
Enter the following:
Bill Of Distribution |
The unique code identifying the bill of distribution. Mandatory. |
Press <Enter> key. |

The system checks whether the login user has at least “View” access permissions to the “Maintained By” control unit of the bill of distribution. If the access permission is denied for the user, the system displays an error message. It also checks whether this Bill of Distribution already exits for the login Business Unit. If it does not exist, system displays an error message. |

Click the “Get Details” pushbutton to retrieve the bill of distribution details in the header and the multiline.

Status |
Use the drop-down list box to select the status of the bill of distribution. You can select from “Active”, “Inactive“ or “Draft”. The system displays “Active” by default on launch of the page. |
Maintained By |
Use the drop-down list box to select the “Maintained By” control units for which the login user has “All” access permission. The system retrieves the values in ascending order and displays “First Value” by default on launch of the page. |
Enter the following in the “Shipping Warehouse” multiline:
Priority |
The priority accorded to the selected warehouse in the multiline. During material planning, the system selects the warehouse from which stock can be transferred based on its priority. The lesser the number entered, the higher the priority. The system checks if this field is left blank. If yes, displays an error message. The priority entered should be unique. This field should also be an integer and should be greater than zero. |
Warehouse Code |
The code or number identifying the warehouse from which stock can be transferred during material planning. The system checks whether this field is left blank. If yes, displays an error message. The warehouse must be valid for the login Organization Unit. |

Note: All warehouses should belong to the same business unit and should not overlap within same effective dates.
Transit Time (Days) |
The amount of time taken for the transfer of stock from the warehouse selected in the multiline to the required warehouse. If this field is entered, it should be greater than or equal to zero. |
Transport Lot Size |
The lot size of the item that can be transferred to the required warehouse. If this field is entered, it should be greater than or equal to zero. |
UOM |
The code identifying the stock unit of measure of the item. Mandatory. This field should be valid and should exist for the business unit. It should also be in “Active” status . |

Transportation Mode |
Use the drop-down list box to select the transportation mode. You can select from “Road”, “Rail”, “Air”, "Waterways" or “Blank”. The system displays “Blank” by default on launch of the page. |
Effective From |
The effective date from which the transfer at selected warehouse is valid. If the date is entered, it must be same as the system date format. The system checks whether the Effective From date is greater than “Effective To” date. If yes, displays an error message. If this field is left blank, it is assumed as low date. |
Effective To |
The effective date till which the transfer at selected warehouse is valid. If the date is entered it must be same as system date format. If this field is left blank, it is assumed as high date. |

Check the box in the “Select” column of the multiline to select the bill of distribution details.
Click the “Create Bill Of Distribution” pushbutton to create bill of distribution.
The system ensures that at least one record is entered in the multiline. The system creates the bill of distribution details only if the status is “Active”. If Effective from date is null , it is saved as low date and if Effective To date is null it is saved as high date. “Created By” is saved as "Login User" and “Created Date” is saved as "System Date".
The validations are not done if the selected status of the bill of distribution is either “Inactive” or “Draft”.
The system updates the login ID of the user to the “Created By” and the system date to the “Created Date” field.
To proceed, carry out the following
Select the “Edit Bill of Distribution” link at the bottom of the page to modify the bill of distribution details.
Select the “Attach Notes” link at the bottom of the page to attach notes.
The system displays the following:

The login ID of the user who created the bill of distribution. |
Created Date |
The date on which the bill of distribution was created. |
