Edit Item - MPS Source Link

This activity allows you to create and modify the link between the item and the MPS source rule. In order to establish a new link, you must have planning permission as defined in the "Edit User Permission" activity of the "Organization Model" business component. You can select the default MPS sourcing rule to be linked to the MPS sourcing rule either by entering or by making use of the help facility.

On selecting the default MPS sourcing rule, you can associate the default MPS sourcing rule to the MPS sourcing rule in the multiline and the system retrieves all the items defined for the MPS sourcing rule. In case if the MPS sourcing rule for the item is already linked, then the system retrieves all the items or the variants for which the selected material planner has planning permissions along with MPS sourcing rule in the multiline. You can modify the link established by selecting the appropriate MPS sourcing rule.

Select the “Edit Item MPS Source Link” link under the “Supply Chain Model“ business component.

The “Edit Item - MPS Source Link” page appears.

Modify the following if required:

Material Planner	Use the drop-down list box to select the material planners defined in the control unit for which the login user has "All" transaction permissions. The system retrieves the control units in ascending order. The system displays “First Value” by default on launch of the page.
Default MPS Sourcing Rule	The code identifying the MPS sourcing rule to be linked to the available MPS sourcing rule.
	Press <Enter> key.
	The system checks for the existence of the Default MPS Sourcing Rule field. If it does not exist in MPS sourcing rule master and is in “Inactive” status, then the system displays an error message. The system retrieves all MPS Items/Item Vars and their desc from “Item Administration“ business component for which the selected material planner has planning permissions. It also retrieves MPS sourcing rule for the Items/Item Var, which are already linked to MPS sourcing rule. The value in Default MPS Sourcing Rule field is checked. If it is not blank, then the system retrieves the default MPS sourcing rules for the items, which do not have Item - MPS Sourcing link already defined else retrieves blank to the MPS sourcing rule field.

The system displays the following:

Desc.	The description of the MPS sourcing rule.
	Zoom facility available.

Click the “Get” pushbutton to retrieve the default MPS sourcing rule details.

The system displays the following in the “Sourcing Details” multiline:

Item Code	The code identifying the item for which MPS sourcing rule is defined.
Variant Code	The code identifying the variant of the item for which MPS sourcing rule is defined
Desc.	The description in the combination of item/item variant.

Modify the following in the “Sourcing Details” multiline, if required:

MPS Sourcing Rule	The code identifying MPS sourcing rule that has been defined for item and item variant combination. The system saves the MPS sourcing rule only if it is valid for the Business Unit and the status is “Inactive” for the marked row in the multiline. If the above criteria are not satisfied, then the system displays an error message.

Click the “Edit Item - MPS Source Link” pushbutton to modify item - MPS source link.

The system saves the Item - MPS Sourcing Rule link details and displays the saved Item - MPS Sourcing Rule link details onto the respective fields.
