Edit Taxes And Charges By Item
This page allows you to modify the details of the taxes and charges that are specified at item level for the selected stock transfer note. The system populates all the line number associated with the stock transfer note. For the selected line number, the system retrieves and displays the taxes and charges details. You can modify the code identifying the TC and the code identifying the item variant. The system computes and displays the taxes and charges amount. The system also calculates the transfer value, stock transfer note net amount and total expense. The system ignores the changes to the stock transfer note if the note is in “Held” status. The system saves the stock transfer note number and its associated details.
Select the "Edit TC By Item” link at the bottom of "Edit Stock Transfer Note” page.
The "Edit Taxes And Charges By Item" page appears.
The system retrieves and displays the following field details for the note number:
Status |
The status of the stock transfer note. It can be “Fresh”, “Held”, “Returned” or “Null”. |
STN No. |
The number identifying the stock transfer note. |
STN Point |
The point from where the item specified in the stock transfer note is raised. |
STN Date |
The date on which the stock transfer note was created. |
Modify the following field detail, if required:
STN Line No. |
Use the drop-down list box to select the line number identifying the stock transfer note Mandatory. The system populates all the line number associated with the stock transfer note number. The system displays “Smallest Stock Transfer Note line number” by default on launch of the page. |
The system displays the following field details based on the line number selected:
Item Code |
The code identifying the item. |
Variant Code |
The code identifying the item variant. |
Item Basic Value |
The item basic value is calculated as multiplication of shipped quantity and cost price. |
Added To Stock TC |
The total of all the stock taxes and charges added for each line. Added to stock TC means the taxes and charges that are to be added to the item cost. |
Expensed Off TC |
The total expensed off taxes and charges for each line. An expense off TC means those taxes and charges that are not added to the item stock and instead charged off as expense. |
Modify the following field details in the “TC Details” multiline, if required:
TC Code |
The code identifying the taxes and charges (Alphanumeric, 10) Mandatory. This field cannot be left blank if the “TC Variant” is specified. |

TC Variant |
The code identifying the variant of the taxes and charges (Alphanumeric, 10) Mandatory. This field cannot be left blank if the “TC Code” is entered. |
The system displays the following taxes and charges details for each row from “TCD” business component:
Desc. |
The textual description pertaining to the taxes and charges. |
TC Type |
The type of TC that is computed. It can be either “Tax” or “Charges”. For all the rows where the TC code and variant are specified, the system checks if the “TC Type” is either “Tax” or Charge”. |
TC Basis |
The basis on which the TCD is to be calculated. It can be “Flat”, “Percentage” or Unit Rate”. |
Variant Value |
The value of the taxes or charges computed. |
Modify the following field, if required:
TC Amount |
The amount of the taxes and charges (Integer) Mandatory. The system calculates the taxes and charges amount for each row from the “TCD” business component if it satisfies the following conditions: 1. The “TC Code” and “TC Variant” should not be left blank. 2. If the “TC Basis” is set to “Flat” then the taxes and charges amount is not pre entered. |
The system displays the following field:
Account Rule |
The rule that is used for posting of sale taxes and charges transactions. It depends on the system parameters. |
Modify the following field, if required:
Usage For CC |
Use the drop-down list box to select the code identifying the cost center associated with the stock transfer order. The system displays all the “Usage for CC” from the “Cost Centre Rule Definition” business component. |
Click the “Compute” pushbutton to calculate the taxes and charges amount.
If “TC Code” and “TC Variant” are entered, then the system checks the following details for all the rows from the “TCD” business component:
1. It checks for the existence of the code and also checks if the TC code is in “Active” status.
2. For the specified TC variant(s), the system checks the “Effective Date From” and “Effective Date To” fields.
3. It also checks for the existence of the variant code and also checks if the variant code is in “Active” status.
4. It also checks for the validity of the TC code and TC variant combination.
If the “TC Basis” is other than “Flat”, then the system neglects the value entered in “TC Amount” field. If set to “Flat”, the system ensures that the entered “TC Amount” is not negative.
Click the “Edit TC Details” pushbutton to modify the details of the taxes and charges.
The system ensures that at least one row is entered in the multiline.
If “TC Code” or “TC Variant” is not entered, then the system neglects the value entered for “TC Amount” or “Usage for CC”.
The system checks if any lines are selected for deletion. If so, the system deletes the selected note.
If the “TC Basis” is set to “Flat” and if the “TC Amount” is pre entered, then the system retains the values while saving.
The system calculates the “Transfer Value” as a sum of “Basic Value”, “Total Added To Stock TC” and “Added To Stock Freight”.
The “STN Net Amount” is calculated as a sum of “Basic Value”, “Total Added To Stock TC”, “Added To Stock Freight” and “Total Expense”.
For each note line number, the system calculates the “Transfer Price”.
The system retrieves the finance book for all the "Shipping WH Code" and "Receiving WH Code" from “Storage Administration” business component.
The system retrieves the account code(s) for each “TC Code” and “TC Variant” combination entered from “Account Rule Definition” business component based on the “Account Rule” field.
If the "Shipping WH Code" and "Receiving WH Code" belongs to different finance book, then the system retrieves the inter finance book account code(s), account code(s) for shipping finance book, account code(s) for receiving finance book for all the “TC Code” and “TC Variant” combination where the “Account Rule” field is set to “Include In Item” from the “Account Rule Definition” business component.
The system retrieves the analysis and subanalysis code for the account code from the “Account Based Budget” business component.
The system stores the login user ID and the system date along with the modified details.
If the status of the modified note is “Returned”, then the system updates the stock transfer note status to ”Fresh”.
The system neglects the value changes for the selected note that is in “Held” status.
The system saves the note number and line number and all its associated details.
To proceed, carry out the following
Select the “Edit Taxes and Charges by Document” link at the bottom of the page to modify the taxes, charges and freight details for the document as a whole.
Select the “View Stock Transfer Note Summary” link at the bottom of the page to view the summary of the stock transfer note.
Select the “Attach Notes” link at the bottom of the page to attach notes regarding the stock transfer note.
Select the “ Tax Calculation - Summary” link at the bottom of the page to specify the tax details pertaining to the stock transfer note.
