Create Shift Details – A summary of the activity
You can define a timetable in terms of shifts into which a day is divided. You can specify the shift details in the multiline. The shift can start at any time during a day and can be extended to another day. Within each shift there could be different working and non-working time periods. You can automatically generate a day type using this screen.
In the multiline, a single shift can be defined in more than one row. The number of rows it requires depends on the number of time periods into which the shift is divided. Each row corresponding to a shift will have a unique shift and position number combination that identifies the different time periods. The start time and end time of a timetable can fall on two consecutive days provided the difference between the two does not exceed 24 hours. The time period specifies the net working and the break time within each shift.
You can define the efficiency factor for a time period that is used in calculating the activity time during scheduling. It indicates the level of efficiency of resources during the time period. Based on this the activity time is either shrunk or extended. You can also specify the cost factor that indicates a multiple with which the actual cost of an activity during a time period is multiplied. Hence, the cost may be different during different time periods. On entering the necessary details, you can initiate the create operation to generate the shift details. The summary of the shift details is created automatically by the system in the multiline. The overall summary of the shift details are retrieved and displayed in the header. You can make use of the link to modify (if required) at the bottom of the page.
