Using online help

This activity allows you to hard allocate items for which the allocation method is set to “User Defined”. You can select the work order and the input item to be hard allocated either by entering or by making use of the help facility. On retrieving the work order and input item, the system displays the corresponding quantity and item details in the header and warehouse, zone and bin, pending and available quantity, lot and serial number details in the multiline.

You can specify the selected or allocated quantity for each of warehouse, zone and bin combination in the multiline. Once the necessary details are furnished, you can select the rows to be hard allocated in the multiline and initiate the “Allocate” operation. The system updates the created by and created date along with the modification details.

The “User Defined Allocation” page appears.

Work Order No.

The number identifying the work order for which the user defines allocation. Mandatory. The system ensures that the work order no exists in the work order master.

Help facility available.

PS Seq.

The number identifying the product structure sequence number defined in the work order product structure. PS Seq should be valid for the selected work order.

Input Item Code

The code identifying the item for which the user defines allocation.

Help facility available.

Variant Code

The code identifying the variant of the item.

Note: The input item and the variant should exist in the work order product structure. If the input item and variant combination is defined for more than one PS Seq of the work order product structure and PS Seq is left blank, then the system throws an error message and defaults PS Seq with the first value.

The system ensures that the work order should be either in “Firm” or ”Release” status and the login user has atleast “View” access permission to the production controller defined in the control unit of the work order.

The system retrieves the work orders and input items only those items for which the allocation method is set to “User Defined”. The system displays the Desc, Total Qty, Allocated Qty and Mfg UOM details in the header and Warehouse, Zone, Bin, Available Qty, Lot No, Serial No and Expiry Date in the multiline. If the input item is Serial No controlled, then the system defaults Pending Allocated Qty and Selected Qty with value “One” in each row.

The system displays the following:

Desc.

The description for the combination of the item/item variant.

Zoom facility available.

Total Qty.

The total quantity of the input item for which the user defines allocation.

Note: For each row selected in the multiline, the system checks whether the Selected Qty is left blank or is less than or equal to zero or is greater than the Pending Allocation Qty.  If yes, the system displays an error message.

For the selected row in the multiline, if the input item is Serial No controlled then the Selected Qty cannot be greater than one.

If the total selected quantity is greater than pending allocation quantity then the selected quantity cannot be greater than one.

The system ensures that the work order should be either in “Firm” or “Release” status and the login user should have “All” access permission to the production controller defined in the control unit of the work order.

The system displays a success message, if all the selected input items are hard allocated and updates the input items that have been allocated for the selected work order in the Work Order Management Component.
