Close Clearance Permit – A summary of the activity

Clearance Permit - An Overview

Pages inside the activity

This activity allows you to close a clearance permit. Upon the completion of work on the equipment, the Permit Holder returns the Clearance Permit to the issuing department. An employee of the issuing department then inspects the equipment for satisfactory completion of the maintenance work and then removes the clearance tags from the equipment. The employee then closes the  clearance permit and the status of the permit changes to “Closed”.

A clearance permit in the “Returned” status can be closed. But if the option of closing a clearance permit without returning has been set as “Yes” in the “Option Settings” activity, the system allows you to close a permit that has not been returned.

If the work on the clearance permit is not completed, you are also provided with the option of short closing the permit in this activity. The status of the permit changes to “Closed” and the clearance permit is saved with an additional information regarding its short closure.

If the clearance permit has been created based on a clearance request, the system also closes the clearance request provided that there are no clearance permits, that are in the “Fresh”, “Approved”, “WaitForExt” and “Extended” statuses, raised based on the clearance request. For closing clearance requests when clearance permits are closed, the option “Close Clearance Request Automatically?” must be set as “Yes” in the “Option Settings” activity.

You can select the clearance permit to be closed in the “Select Clearance Permit” page and close it in the “Close Clearance Permit” page.
