Create Work Group – A summary of the activity
This activity allows you to define a work group as the basic unit for carrying out maintenance activities in an organization. Employees, Tools, and Other Resources can be associated to a work group.
You can enter a unique code for the work group and provide a description and status. You can select the type to which the work group belongs. You can also attach the work group to a planning group, either by directly entering the planning group or using the help facility provided. The system sets the work group creation date and time to the current system date and time and stores the login ID of the currently logged-in user.

You can define a work group, which is the basic unit for carrying out maintenance activities in an organization.
Use the “Create Work Group” page to create a work group.
Associate employees to the work group
An employee who is uniquely identified by a code, in the “Define Employee" activity of the "Common Masters", is associated to the work group for carrying out maintenance activities pertaining to the work group.
Use the “Associate Employees To Work Group” page to associate employees to the work group.
Associate tools and resources to the work group
You can associate to the work group, the tools that have been made available to that work group on a long term and exclusive basis (e.g. tools issued to a department/section for exclusive use) for carrying out maintenance activities.
Use the “Associate Tools To Work Group” page to associate tools to the work group.
You can associate other resources to the work group, for carrying out maintenance activities.
Use the “Associate Other Resources To Work Group” page to associate other resources to the work group.
You can set the work group as the default work group for the planning group.
Use the “Change The Default Work Group” page to set the default work group.
