This activity allows you to create inspection plan for control point. Tell me more.

The “Create Inspection Plan” page appears.

The system displays the following:

Status

The status of the inspection plan.  The values “Activate” or "Deactivated" get displayed. Inspection plan is created in Active status

Inspection Plan ID

A unique code identifying the inspection plan created for a control point (Alphanumeric, 50). Mandatory.

Press <Enter> key.

The system displays the details of inspection plan in the page.

Help facility available.

Description

The textual description of the inspection plan id (Alphanumeric, 150). Mandatory.

Effective From

The date from when the inspection plan is effective (Date Format). Mandatory.

Effective To

The date until when the inspection plan is effective (Date Format).

Control Point ID

The code identifying the control point (Alphanumeric, 50). Mandatory.

Help facility available.

The system displays the following:

Description

The textual description of the control point.

Item Code

The code identifying the item attached to the control point.

Variant

The item variant associated with the control point.

Description

The textual description of the item variant.

Origin ID

The location where the item is to be inspected. The system displays “Quality Management”, “Production”, “Sales”, “Purchase” or “All” based on the origin specified.

Sampling Type

The sampling type indicates the method used to select the samples of an item. Use the drop-down list box to specify the sampling method for inspection.

  • Fixed size – indicates that the inspection to be carried out for a sample is fixed. For example, if the sample size is specified as “10”, it indicates that you can inspect the sample for 10 times and this value is fixed for the quantity.

  • Variable size – indicates that the inspection to be carried out for a sample varies. In such a case, you are allowed to modify the sample size when required.

  • Square root – indicates that the inspection of the sample must be in “Square Root”. For example, if the sample size is specified as 100, the quantity per sample would be the square root of 100, which is “10”.

  • % Based – indicates that the inspection for a sample must be in percentage. For example, if the sample size is 90%, it indicates that 90% of the quantity needs to be inspected.

The system displays “Fixed Size” by default on launch of the page.

Inspection Type

Use the drop-down list box to specify the inspection type.

  • Normal – indicates that the inspection must be done within the specified date range.

  • Tightened – indicates that the inspection must be done exactly on the specified date.

  • Reduced – indicates that the inspection could be done before or after the dates specified in the range.

The system displays “Normal” by default on launch of the page.

Number of Samples

The number of samples for which the inspection must be carried out (Integer).

Retention Samples

The value indicating the quantity of the sample. For example, if the sample size is 100 and if “10” is specified here, it indicates that 10 items are retained for some specific reason and could be inspected later.

Quantity per Sample

The quantity specifying the sample size (Integer).

UOM

The unit of measurement in which the quantity is measured (Integer).

Help facility available.

Inspection Basis

Use the drop-down list box to specify the basis of inspection, which could be “Attribute” or “Check List”.The system displays “Attribute” by default on launch of the page.

Note: When the Inspection Basis is selected as “Attribute”, then the attribute details will be displayed in the multiline provided that attribute is set as testing required in the “Attribute Definition” component for the attributes mapped to the item.

Check List (SOP)

The code identifying the standard operating procedures (Alphanumeric, 32). This field is mandatory if the “Inspection Basis” is set to “Check List”.

Help facility available.

The system displays the following:

Description

The textual description of the SOP.

Percentage Based

This field will capture the percentage of the inspection quantity that will be treated as the number of samples. Applicable for the sampling type “Percentage based”. (Alphanumeric, 20).

Serial Number

The number identifying the serial number of the attribute for which the inspection must be defined (Integer).

Attribute

The code identifying the attributes that are defined for inspection plan (Alphanumeric, 06). This field is mandatory if the “Inspection Basis” field is set to “Attribute”.

Help facility available.

The system displays the following:

Attribute Type

The type of the attribute, which could be “Quantitative” or “Qualitative”.

Min. Value

The minimum acceptable value of the quantitative attribute This value is displayed from the item admin defined against the attribute. (Integer).

Reqd. Min Value

The required minimum value that can be assigned to the quantitative attribute. This value should be greater than or equal to the min. value of the attribute. (Integer).

Std. Quantitative Value

The standard acceptable value of the quantitative attribute (Integer). This value is displayed from the item admin defined against the attribute.

Reqd. Std. Quantitative Value

The required standard quantitative value that can be assigned to the attribute. (Integer). Mandatory. This value should be greater than the reqd. min. value and lesser than or equal to the reqd. max. value.

Max. Value

The maximum acceptable value of the quantitative attribute. This value is displayed from the item admin defined against the attribute. (Integer)

Reqd. Max. Value

The required maximum value that can be assigned to the attribute. This value should be lesser than or equal to the reqd. max. value of the attribute.. (Integer).

Std. Qualitative Value

The acceptable value of the qualitative attribute (Alphanumeric, 20).

Reqd. Std. Qualitative Value

The required standard qualitative value that can be assigned to the attribute. (Alphanumeric, 20).

Help facility available.

Mandatory

Use the drop-down list box to indicate whether recording the attribute values is mandatory. The combo is loaded with ” Yes” and “No”. The system displays “Yes” by default on launch of the page.

Return Type

Use the drop-down list box to specify the way in which the final attribute result must be calculated. You can select from “Mean”, “Median”, “Maximum” or “Minimum”. The system displays “Mean” by default on launch of the page.  Return type is not applicable for qualitative attribute.

Analysis Method

The code identifying the analysis method that contains instructions to carry out inspection.

Help facility available.

The system displays the following:

Attribute Description

The textual description of the attribute.

UOM

The unit of measurement by which the quantitative values are measured. This field is displayed only if the attribute type of the inspection is “Quantitative”.

The system displays the following:

Create Inspection Plan – An overview

Activity overview

The control point ids are created in the “Create Controlpoint Definition” page. You could have more than one plan for the same control point on a given date range.

The quality of an item is decided based on the sample results. The system allows you to supply the number of samples to be tested. The sampling types that are available are fixed, variable size, square root and percentage based. Based on the sampling type selected, you can specify the sample size and the quantity per sample. If the inspection basis is set to “Attribute”, supply the attribute code, its minimum, maximum and standard acceptable values in the multiline.

The system also allows you to specify a return type, which is used in calculating the final attribute result based on the sample results. The return type could be mean, median, maximum or minimum. You can specify one of these return types to enable the system to calculate the actual value of the attribute. The system stores the login user id and the server date along with its modification details.
