This page allows you to modify the forecast details for the planning group/item code. Tell me more

The “Edit Production Forecast” page appears.

Forecast Group

The unique number identifying the forecast group entered manually or retrieved with help facility. Mandatory.

The system ensures that the forecast group exists in the forecast group master and should be in “Draft” or “Active” status and the login user has at least “View” access permission to the “Maintained By” control unit of the forecast group.

Note: The forecast group should not be left blank, if the fore cast group is left blank then the system generates the forecast group using the "Numbering Type" business component. If the forecast group is specified and exist in the forecast group master, then the system retrieves all the forecast group details else displays an error message and the “Edit Forecast” screen is launched by displaying a blank value in the forecast group field.

Desc.

The description of the forecast group. If forecast description is left blank, then the system defaults the forecast description as forecast group.

Status

Use the drop-down list box to select the status of the forecast group. You can select from “Active”, “Draft” or “Inactive”. The system displays “Draft” by default on launch of the page.

 

  • Active – indicates valid forecast.

 

  • Draft – indicates incomplete forecast.

 

  • Inactive – indicates invalid forecast.

Forecast Level

Use the drop-down list box to set the forecast level for the forecast group. The system displays “Item” by default on launch of the page. The various forecast levels are

 

  • Item – indicates the forecast created at item level.

 

  • Customer – indicates the forecast created at customer level.

 

  • Project – indicates the forecast created at project level.

Customer

The name of the customer. The customer cannot be left blank, if the forecast level is set to "Customer". The customer should exist in customer master. If it does not exist, then the system displays an error message.

Project

The name of the project as defined in MAC (Management Accounting Module). You can modify project, if it has been specified in “Create Forecast” page. For forecast level selected as “Item”, this field need not be specified.

Look Back (Weeks)

The number of weeks a forecast consumption logic can look backward to consume forecast demand against actual demand.

Look Forward (Weeks)

The number of weeks forecast consumption logic could look forward to consume forecast demand against actual demand.

Allow Consumption

Select the check box to indicate that actual demands can consume forecast demands. The system leaves the box “Checked” by default on launch of the page.

Matl. Planner

Use the drop-down list box to select the material planners defined in the control unit. The system populates the values from the control unit master of the “Organization Model” business component. The system displays “Default Material Planner” defined for the login user by default on launch of the page.

Plg. Group

The code identifying the planning group for which the forecast is created.

The system checks whether the planning group or item is left blank. Either one can be blank. If both the fields are left blank, then the system displays an error message. It also checks for the existence of the planning group in the planning group master. If the planning group does not exist, then the system displays an error message. The system retrieves the description for the specified planning group.

Item

The code identifying the item for which the forecast is created.

 

Press <Enter> key.

 

The system checks whether the item or planning group is left blank. Either one can be blank. If both the fields are left blank, then the system displays an error message. It also checks for the existence of the item in the item master. If the variant exists for the item, then it should not be left blank. The system retrieves all the item details for the selected rows in the multiline.

Variant Code

The code or number identifying the variant of the item for which the forecast is created. If item variant is specified, then the item cannot be left blank.

The system displays the following:

The description of the planning group.

Forecast Plant

Use the drop-down list box to select the valid plants where the forecast item/planning group is identified.  The system displays “First Value” by default on launch of the page.

Note: The system validates the forecast plant against planning group or item code.

Forecast Warehouse

The code or number identifying the warehouse where the forecast item/planning group is identified. You can enter the valid warehouse or can retrieve it using the help facility.

Note: The system validates the forecast warehouse against item code to check whether the item is valid in the warehouse.

Time Bucket

Use the drop-down list box to select the time bucket that represents the period of the forecast created. The system displays “Weekly” by default on launch of the page. The available time buckets are

 
  • Daily – indicates the daily forecast.

 
  • Weekly – indicates the weekly forecast.

 
  • Monthly – indicates the monthly forecast.

Anchor Date

The start date from which the forecast demands are generated. The date cannot be left blank and should be in valid Date Format.

Note: When the date is specified in the first row based on which the date is calculated in the second row as sum of the date in the first row and the value specified in time bucket. For example: if the Time Bucket is set to “Weekly” and the date in the first row is specified as “03/06/02” then the date in the second row should be “10/06/02”.

No. of Buckets

The number of periods for which the forecast demands is generated. If planning group/item is specified, then number of bucket cannot be left blank. If this field is specified, it cannot be less than one.

Bucket Qty.

The quantity that represents the forecast quantity of the item for each bucket. If planning group/item is specified, then bucket quantity cannot be left blank. If this field is specified, it should be greater than zero.

Confidence %

The percentage that represents the confidence level of the forecast. If the confidence percentage is specified, it should not be less than zero and greater than 100.  The system displays “100” by default on launch of the page.

The system displays the following:

Total Qty.

The total quantity of the item for which the forecast demands is generated. The quantity represents the No of Buckets multiplied by Bucket Qty.

Forecast Ref.

A unique number identifying the forecast reference generated by the system. The system generates the forecast reference using “Numbering Type” business component

Item Type

The type of the item.

Remarks

The remarks or comment specified by the user.

The system checks the current status of the forecast group. If it is in “Draft” or “Active” status, then the system deletes the header and multiline details for the selected rows. If the planning group/item code is not mapped to the forecast group, then the system sets the status of the forecast as “Inactive”.

The system checks whether the login user has “Modify” access permission to the “Maintained By” control units of the forecast group. If the permission is denied, then the system displays an error message.

The system ensures that at least one planning group/item must have been mapped to the forecast group. The system executes each row and continues until the last row in the multiline. The system deletes all the errors in the error table for the forecast group.

The system checks the status of the forecast group and checks the following condition:

4 If the previous and current status of the forecast group is in “Draft” status, then

1.       If new rows are added, then it generates the forecast ref for each row.

2.       If any rows are marked for deletion, then the system deletes all the forecast details for the forecast ref.

4 If the previous and current status of the forecast group is in “Active” status, then

1.       For every forecast ref in the forecast group, the system unconsumes the demand in the Disposition and sets the status to “Draft”.

2.       If any rows are marked for deletion, then the system deletes all the forecast details for the forecast ref.

3.       If new rows are added, then for every forecast ref the system creates the demand in Disposition.

4 If the previous status is set to “Active” and current status is set to “Draft” of the forecast group, then

1.       For every forecast ref in the forecast group, the system unconsumes the demand in the Disposition and sets the status to “Draft”.

2.       If new rows are added, then it generates the forecast ref for each row.

3.       If any rows are marked for deletion, then the system deletes the forecast details for the forecast ref.

4 If the previous status is set to “Draft” and current status is set to “Active” of the forecast group, then

1.       If any rows are marked for deletion, then the system deletes the forecast details for the forecast ref.

2.       If new rows are added, then for every forecast ref the system creates the demand in Disposition.

4 If the status is changed from “Active” to “Inactive”

1.       For every forecast ref in the forecast group, the system unconsumes the demand in the Disposition and sets the status to “Draft”.

2.       The system deletes the forecast details.

The system displays the following:

Created By

The login ID of the user who created the forecast.

Created Date

The date on which the forecast was created.

Edited By

The login ID of the user who modified the forecast.

Edited Date

Edit Forecast - An overview

Activity overview

You can also update the changes made to excel sheet by uploading the forecast details by specifying the file path. The changes to the excel file in the form of modification or addition can be updated through incremental upload for the selected forecast. You can also modify the details of the forecast for the selected planning group/item in the multiline. You cannot make changes to anchor date, bucket quantity, no of buckets if the anchor date is within the “Demand Time Fence” of the item and variant combination.

Apart from modification, you can also delete the details of the forecast. You can select the records in the multiline and initiate the delete operation to delete the forecast details. The system updates the login user and the system date as a part of modification details.
