This page allows the user to create and maintain opportunity details. Tell me more.

The “Maintain Opportunity” page appears.

Opportunity ID

The code identifying the opportunity (Alphanumeric, 18). Mandatory.

 

Press <Enter> key.

 

The system ensures that this field is not left blank and checks for the validity of the entered code and retrieves the details for the project code, else, the system throws an error message.

Opportunity Desc.

The textual description of the opportunity. Mandatory.

Numbering Type

Use the drop-down list box to select the active numbering type (Alphanumeric, 10). The system retrieves and displays the values as defined in the “Numbering Class” business component.

The system displays the following details:

Amendment No.

The code identifying the amendment number.

Cost Center

The code identifying the cost center unit (Alphanumeric, 20).

 

Press <Enter> key.

 

The system ensures that this field is not left blank. The system retrieves and displays the cost center unit.  The system displays “STCODE” as default.

Cost Center Name

The name identifying the cost center.

Customer Code

The code identifying the customer (Alphanumeric, 18).

The system ensures that this field is not left blank. The system checks for the existence of the entered customer code in the “Customer Master” business component and retrieves and displays the customer name. The system also populates the address Id drop-down list box with all the id’s that are mapped to the customer and displays the address corresponding to the id defaulted in the address field.

Customer Name

The name identifying the customer.

Address ID

Use the drop-down list box to select the address id of the customer (Alphanumeric, 12).

The system displays the following details:

Address

The address of the customer (Alphanumeric, 40). The system displays the address of the customer for the corresponding address id.

Line Of Business

Use the drop-down list box to select the line of business (Alphanumeric, 40). The system populates the list box with the values that are defined under the category LM_line of business in the “Category Master” business component.

Solution Center

Use the drop-down list box to select the solution center (Alphanumeric, 40). The system populates the list box with the values that are defined under the category LM_solution center in the “Category Master” business component.

Main Product

Use the drop-down list box to select the main product (Alphanumeric, 40) Mandatory. The system populates the list box with the values that are defined under the category LM_Main Product in the “Category Master” business component.

Product Quantity

The number indicating the quantity of the product (Integer).

Special Feature

Use the drop-down list box to select the special feature used for the project (Alphanumeric, 40). The system populates the list box with the values that are defined under the category LM_special feature in the “Category Master” business component.

Potential Order Value

The value of the potential order (Integer). The system ensures that the value is greater than zero.

Currency

Use the drop-down list box to select the currency (Alphanumeric, 20) Mandatory. The system displays “EUR”, “INR” and “USD”.

Cost of Chasing Lead

The cost incurred for chasing the lead (integer).

Expected Order Date

The date on which the order is expected (Date Format). The system ensures that the date is not earlier than the current date.

Expected Delivery Date

The expected delivery date of the project (Date Format). The system ensures that the date is not earlier than the current date.

Check List

The list of items to be checked. The system retrieves and displays the value from the maintain check list activity.

Opportunity Status

Use the drop-down list box to select the status of the opportunity (Alphanumeric, 20) Mandatory. It can be “ACTIVE”, “LOST”, “WON”, “CANCELLED” and “CLOSED”. The system displays “ACTIVE” by default on the launch of the page.

Success Probability

Use the drop-down list box to select the probability of success. The system populates the list box with the values that are defined under the category LM_Probability in the “Category Master” business component.

Reason for Win/Loss

Use the drop-down list box to select the reason for Win/Loss. The system populates the list box with the values that are defined under the category LM_Reason in the “Category Master” business component.

The textual description of the reason.

Sales Person

The code identifying the sales person (Alphanumeric, 6) Mandatory.

The system ensures that this field is not left blank. The system checks for the existence of the entered sales person code in the “Sales Person” business component and retrieves and displays the sales person name, sales team code and the sales team name.

Sales Person Name

The name identifying the sales person (Alphanumeric, 60).

Sales Team

The code identifying the sales team (Alphanumeric, 6) Mandatory.

The system ensures that this field is not left blank. The system checks for the existence of the entered sales team code in the “Sales Person” business component and retrieves and displays the sales team name.

Lead In Charge

The code identifying the lead in charge for the team (Alphanumeric, 18) Mandatory.

The system also checks for the validity of the entered employee code and retrieves and displays the Last Name, Department, Phone and Email for the corresponding employee code as defined in the “Employee Master” business component.

Name

The name identifying the lead in charge (Alphanumeric, 60).

Geography

Use the drop-down list box to select the solution center (Alphanumeric, 40). The system populates the list box with the values that are defined under the category LM_geography in the “Category Master” business component.

Sales Type

Use the drop-down list box to select the type of sales. The system populates the list box with the values that are defined under the category LM_Sales Type in the “Category Master” business component.

Partner

The code identifying the partner (Alphanumeric, 18).

Name

The name identifying the partner (Alphanumeric, 60).

Lead Source

Use the drop-down list box to select the lead source (Alphanumeric, 40). The system populates the list box with the values that are defined under the category LM_lead source in the “Category Master” business component.

Enquiry Type

Use the drop-down list box to select the type of enquiry (Alphanumeric, 40). The system populates the list box with the values that are defined under the category LM_Enquiry in the “Category Master” business component.

Estimated Revenue Breakup

The estimated breakup of revenue.

Estimate Inflow Date

The date on which the estimated revenue will inflow.

Revenue Type

Use the drop-down list box to select the revenue type. The system populates the list box with the values that are defined under the category LM_revenue type in the “Category Master” business component that are in active status.

Remarks

Remarks, if any.

The system displays the following details:

Check List Template

The name identifying the checklist.

Description

The textual description of the check list.

Milestone

The textual description of the check list.

Completion Status

The status of the check list completion.

Milestone Completion Date

The date on which the check list milestone is completed.

Function

Use the drop-down list box to select the function of the internal team (Alphanumeric, 40). The system populates the list box with the values that are defined under the category LM_Function in the “Category Master” business component that are in active status.

Employee Code

The code identifying the employee (Alphanumeric, 20).

The system ensures that this filed is not left blank. The system also checks for the validity of the entered employee code and retrieves and displays the Last Name, Department, Phone and Email for the corresponding employee code as defined in the “Employee Master” business component.

The system displays the following details in the “Contact Details” multiline:

Name

The name of the employee.

Department

The department to which the employee belongs.

Phone

The phone number of the employee.

Email

The email address of the employee.

Designation

Use the drop-down list box to select the designation of the external team (Alphanumeric, 40). The system populates the list box with the values that are defined under the category LM_Designation in the “Category Master” business component that are in active status.

Contact ID

The code identifying the contact id (Alphanumeric, 18).

 

Press <Enter> key.

 

The system ensures that this filed is not left blank. The system also checks for the existence of the entered contact id and retrieves and displays the First Name, Department, Phone, Mobile, Email and Fax.

The system displays the following details in the “Contact Details” multiline:

Name

The first name of the customer.

Department

The department to which the customer belongs.

Phone

The phone number of the customer.

Mobile

The mobile number of the customer.

E-Mail

The email address of the customer.

Fax

The fax number of the customer.

The system displays the following details in the “Activities” multiline:

Activity Type

The code identifying the type of activity.

Date

The date on which the activity was commenced.

 

Data hyperlink available.

Start Time

The time at which the activity was commenced.

Duration [H]

The duration of the activity.

Subject

The subject of discussion during the activity.

Status

The status of the activity.

Sales Person

The name of the sales person.

Competitor Code

Use the drop-down list box to select the active competitor code (Alphanumeric, 5). The system populates the list box with the values that are defined under the category LM_Competitor in the “Category Master” business component. The system displays the “Blank” value by default on the launch of the page.

The system displays the following details in the “Competitors” multiline:

Competitor

The description of the competitor code.

Order Receiver

Check the box to indicate if the  order is received by that particular competitor or not.

The system checks if the specific project is referred in any other business components such as, “Quotation” or “Sale Order”. The system throws an error message while modifying the customer code if the project is referred elsewhere.

The system ensures that the expected delivery date is not earlier than the expected order date.

The system checks if the dates are entered in the field against the check boxes that are activated. If dates are not entered the system displays the system date by default.

The system checks for the status of the project. If the status is “Cancelled” or “Closed”, the system throws an error message.

To proceed, carry out the following:

Created By

The login id of the user who created the project

Created Date

The date on which it was created.

Last Modified By

The login id of the user who last modified the project.

Last Modified Date

Maintain Opportunity – An overview

Activity overview

The user can maintain and record the details of the opportunity, customer, sales person, sales team, marketing information and the competitor details.

The opportunity information is recorded in various tabs and each tab contain certain information about the project.

Revenue Tab: This tab contains the information about the revenue type, date of the estimated revenue inflow and the estimated revenue breakup.

Checklist Tab:  This tab serves as checklist to know the probability of getting the order. It contains information about the customer contacted, meetings held with the customer, presentations given, quotations submitted, and other information.

Internal Team Tab: This tab contains information about the internal team such as their function, employee code, name, department and other contact details.

External Team Tab: This tab contains information about the external team such as their contact id, name, department and other contact details.

Activities Tab:  This tab contains information about the activities that are planned on this project such as the type of the activity, its duration, the status of the activity and the salesperson responsible for the particular activity.

This page stores details of the date on which the opportunity is created and the user who created and last modified the opportunity details.
