This activity allows you to modify the details of the work order. Tell me more
Select the “Edit Work Order ” link under the “Work Order Management“ business component.
The “Edit Work Order” page appears.
Enter the following details in the “Search Criteria” group box:
Work Order No. |
The number identifying the work order. A work order is a group of documents or schedule conveying authority for the manufacture of specified parts or products in specified quantities. It specifies the components and activities required to produce the desired item. |
Rep. Schedule No. |
The number identifying the repetitive schedule based on which the repetitive schedule work order details are displayed. |
Status |
Use the drop-down list box to select the logical operators used to combine with the status. You can select from “=”, “! =”, “>”, “>=”, “<”, “<=” or “Blank” |
Item Code |
The unique code identifying the item based on which the work order details are displayed. |
Variant Code |
The number or code identifying the variant of the item. |
Matl. / Prodn. Controller |
Use the drop-down list box to select the material or production controllers defined in the control unit for which the login user has the access permissions. The inserts a blank record. The system displays ”Blank” by default on launch of the page. |
Note: If Matl/prod controller combo is left blank, then for work orders with status less than or equal to “Requested” status, the system gets only those work orders for which login user has at least "Modify" access permission to the material planning control unit.
For work orders with status greater than or equal to “Requested”, system gets only those orders for which login user has at least "Modify" access permission to the production controller control unit. For Purchase Request/ Sub-Contract Request / Stock Transfer Request in “Requested” status, the system retrieves only those requests for which login user has at least "Modify" access permission to the material planning control unit.

Due Date From |
The ending date in the range of dates on which the order is due. The system retrieves all the orders created within the specified range. If Due Date From is specified, then the system retrieves all work orders for which the date is greater than or equal to Due Date From. |
Due Date To |
The ending date in the range of dates on which the order is due. The system retrieves all the orders within the specified range. If the Due Date To is specified, then restrict work orders between “From” and “To” Dates. If only Due Date To is specified, then retrieve all work orders with the date equal to the date entered in the Due Date To field. |

Click the “Edit Sequencing Rule Codes” link to retrieve the sequence rule code details.
Click the “Search” pushbutton to display the work order details that matches the search criteria.
The system retrieves all the work order details for the specified or selected fields in the search criteria. The system also retrieves the Purchase /Sub-Contract Requests that are in “Requested” status for which the login user has at least “Modify” access permission. Planning group orders are not retrieved as they are maintained as part of “Edit Planning Order”
Modify the following details in the “New Status” group box, if required:
Stock Transfer |
Use the drop-down list box to select the status of the stock transfer. You can select from “Requested”, “Accepted” or “Blank”. The system displays ”Blank” by default on launch of the page. |
Purchase Request |
Use the drop-down list box to select the status of the purchase request. . You can select from “Requested”, “Accepted” or “Blank”. The system displays ”Blank” by default on launch of the page. |
Work Order |

Transaction Type |
Use the drop-down list box to select the transfer type of the stock transfer. You can select from “Single Step”, “Multi Step” or “Blank”. The system displays ” Single Step” by default on launch of the page. |
Plan Online |
Select the check box to indicate whether the work order is updated immediately or during next MRP run. The system leaves the box "Checked" by default on launch of the page. |
Note: If “Plan Online” field is not “Enabled” and if any of the orders are marked for deletion or for either quantity, date or status change, then the system marks the affected orders for modification during the next MRP run.
If “Plan Online” field is “Enabled” and if the orders are marked for deletion or receipt quantity or start and due date is amended or the status of the planning order is changed, then the system updates the modification for all the affected orders.
Save Template |
Select the check box to save the details of the search criteria with the values specified in the current transaction to be displayed when the user revisits the screen. The system leaves the box "Checked" by default on launch of the page. If an earlier transaction is saved with Save Template selected, the system retrieves the search Criteria with the previously saved data. |
Click the “Edit Work Order” pushbutton to edit and save the new status details.
The system ensures that at least one work order in the multiline should have been selected. The selected/modified/deleted row, should not have the Problem as pending for batch processing. If yes, the system displays an error message.
The selected work order should not be on Hold status. For work orders marked for deletion, the status of such work orders should not yet be released. If yes, the system displays an error message. For the work order being Modified or deleted, there should not be any input item that has been hard allocated. If yes, the system displays “Created By “ with login ID and “Created Date” with system date along with the modification details. If the “Save Template” field is selected, the system saves the entered search criteria details. After processing all changes, the system saves all the modified details and retrieves the new details back based on the existing search criteria.

Modify the following, if required:
Receipt Qty. |
The quantity of the item that is to be produced based on the requirements or demands. Mandatory. For the selected/modified row, Receipt quantity should be greater than zero. If the Production UOM of the item does not allow fractions, then the system increases the receipt quantity to the next higher integer. |
Start Date |
The date on which the work order has to be started. Mandatory. |
Due Date |
The date on which the work order has to be completed. Mandatory. |
Note: For the selected/modified row, either start date or due date should be specified. The dates should be as per Date Format. If Start Date is specified, it should be equal to or greater than the Current System Date.

Note: For the selected/modified row, if the warehouse is changed, then the new warehouse should belong to the same Business Unit as that of the Item-OU for which the work order was raised and should point to the same Finance Book.
For the selected row that has been modified, if warehouse is changed, then the system updates the Work Order Header and Work Order Product Structure with the new warehouse.
The system displays the following:
Order Qty. |
The planned quantity of the work order. This is the sum of the receipt quantity and expected scrap quantity. If the Production UOM of the item does not allow fractions, then the system increases the order quantity to the next higher integer. |
Scrap Qty. |
The expected scrap quantity of the output item of the work order. This is calculated based on the "Receipt Qty" of the work order. If the Production UOM of the item does not allow fractions, then the system increases the scrap quantity to the next higher integer. |

Indicates that the work order is in hold status. |

The current revision number of the item. This is displayed only if the item is under Engineering Change Control. This field cannot be modified. |

The system displays the following in the “Work Order Details” multiline:

The minimum order quantity of the item. |

The order quantity that is used to find the optimal order quantity. The minimum order quantity is incremented by a multiple of this quantity to arrive at an optimal work order quantity. |
Click the “Edit Work Order” pushbutton to modify the work order details.
The system ensures that at least one work order in the multiline should have been selected. The selected/modified/deleted row, should not have the Problem as pending for batch processing. If yes, the system displays an error message. The selected work order should not be on Hold status.
If Quantity is changed for a released work order, then work order quantity can be reduced to the extent of the difference between Original Order Qty and Max of Accept Qty in any activity and (sum of rejected and scrap qty in all activities).
If Edit Work Order is called from any other UI, based on the values provided by the calling screen, the system displays the work order details. If Edit Work Order is called from Create Work Order, for each of the work orders selected, the system automatically retrieves all the details of the work orders from Create Work Order onto the multiline of the Edit Work Order.
To proceed, carry out the following
Select the “Edit WO Product Structure” link at the bottom of the page to modify the work order product structure details for the selected work order.
Select the “Edit WO Process Plan” link at the bottom of the page to modify the work order process plan details for the selected work order
Select the “Attach Notes” link at the bottom of the page to modify notes details for the selected work order
Select the “Split Work Order” link at the bottom of the page to split the work order details.
Select “Resource Loading” link at the bottom of the page to view the resource details.
Select “View Batch Error Log” link at the bottom of the page to view batch error log details.
Select “Production Reporting By Work Order” link at the bottom of the page to report the details of the output items and activities.
Select the "Operational Checklist" link at the bottom of the page to record the check list details of the work order.
This page allows you to modify the work order details. The screen presents you with search criteria to retrieve the work order details. In order to modify the details, you can select the required field in the search criteria and initiate the search operation. The details that match the search criteria get displayed in the multiline. You can make changes to the quantity to be produced; start and due date of the work order, order priority, warehouse, sale order no and project details.
You can also perform an advanced search to retrieve the sequencing rule code specified for the work order. You can edit the work order that is in “Released” status upto the extent to which the work order activities have not been started. You can capture the status of the stock transfer, purchase request, work order using this screen. On selecting the status of each type, the system retrieves the corresponding results in the multiline and the necessary modifications to the fields can be made. You can select the transfer type field to indicate the type of transfer of items between warehouses. Apart from modifying, you can also delete the work order details by selecting the appropriate rows in the multiline. Once the necessary details are edited or modified, you can update the changes made to the work order. Updating a work order can be done in an online mode or batch mode. In an online mode, work order is updated immediately. In a batch mode, work order is kept pending to be updated at a later stage.
