Create specification template – A summary of the activity
This activity allows you to create a specification template that allows you to store detailed information about assets. You can create a specification template by classifying and sub-classifying assets. Asset classification is grouping assets that have common properties such as parameters and task or procedure categories. Asset sub-classification helps in further classifying the asset. For example, equipment of type “Pumps” can fall under the classification “Pumps”, and the sub-classification can be “Centrifugal”.
Parameters, task types and categories are attached to the specification template. When the specification template is attached to the equipment, the equipment automatically inherits the parameters, task types and categories defined for the template.

What you can do in this activity
Attach inspection points to the parameters of the specification template
Specification template allows you to store detailed information about assets, by classifying and sub-classifying assets based on common properties such as parameters, task or procedure categories. When the specification template is attached to the equipment, the equipment automatically inherits the parameters, task types and categories defined for the template.
Use the “Create Specification Template” page to create a specification template.
Attach inspection points to the parameters of the specification template
You can attach inspection points to the parameters belonging to the specification template. When the specification template is attached to the equipment, these inspection points are automatically defaulted to the equipment along with the parameters.
Use the “Create Specification Template” page to create the specification template.
Go to the “Inspection Points” page to attach inspection points to the parameters in the template.
