This activity allows you to modify the details of the selected procedure and re-define its tasks by adding new tasks or deleting the tasks that are already specified for the procedure. Tell me more.
Select the “Modify Procedure” link in the “Select Procedure” page. Alternatively, select the hyperlinked procedure in the mutliline of the same page.
The “Modify Procedure” page appears.
Enter the following fields in the “Copy” group box, if you wish to modify the procedure by copying the details from an existing procedure:

The procedure, the details of which are to be copied into the procedure that is currently being modified (Alphanumeric, 30). You have the option of including or excluding the additional resource requirements of the existing procedure to the procedure being modified. The details are copied on clicking the “Copy” pushbutton. |

Note: The system copies the details of the existing procedure to the procedure that is being modified, for those fields for which values have not yet been entered. Tasks, excluding the tasks that are already defined for the procedure that is being modified, are also copied along with the specified resources.

Use the drop-down list box to modify the status of the procedure. The system provides the options “Active” and “Inactive”. Set the status as “Inactive” if you wish to disable the procedure from future reference in other activities. |

Use the drop-down list box to modify the type of the procedure. The system lists all types of “Active” status that have been defined in the “Define Task Types” activity. |
Est. Duration (Hrs.) |
The estimated duration in hours within which the procedure must be completed (Decimal). Mandatory. Ensure that the duration is not negative. Also ensure that the duration specified for any of the tasks or resources needed for the procedure is greater than the procedure entered in this field. If you leave this field blank, the system considers the longest task duration. |

Procedure Category |
Use the drop-down list box to modify the category to which the procedure belongs. The system lists all categories of “Active” status that have been defined in the “Define Task Categories” activity. Leave the field blank if you do not wish to identify the procedure category. |
Revision No. |
The revision number for the procedure (Alphanumeric, 40). This number represents the number of revisions made to the procedure. When a procedure is revised, the status of the previous revision of the procedure is set as “Inactive”. |

If you are copying the details from an existing procedure, the system displays all the tasks that belong to the existing procedure in the “Tasks” multiline. You can add new tasks, modify or delete the tasks that are already defined for the procedure.

Use the drop-down list box to specify the condition of the equipment based on which the task must be performed. The system provides the options “Online”, “Offline” and “Not Applicable”. |

Enter the following field in the “Tasks” multiline:

The sequence in which the task must be performed (Integer). Ensure that the sequence number is a positive integer and is unique in the multiline. |
If you have left the sequence number blank for all the multiline rows, the system automatically assigns a sequence number to each of them, in multiples of five, on clicking the “Modify” pushbutton.
Note: If you have left the sequence number blank for some of the multiline rows, the system arranges those rows in the order in which the tasks are entered in the multiline, and numbers these rows to be the last in the sequence. The system then rearranges the rows in the ascending order of the sequence number and renumbers the rows with multiples of five.
Check the box in the “Select” column of the multiline to mark the tasks for removing them from the procedure.
Click the Delete icon in the tool bar above the mutlline, to remove the selected tasks from the mutliline.
Note: The system removes the tasks along with its resource requirements from the procedure.
Click the “Modify” pushbutton to update the modified details of the procedure.
The system displays the following fields in the “Record Statistics” group box:

Select the “Skill Requirement” link from the bottom of the page to modify the skills that are required for the procedure.
Select the “Tool Requirement” link from the bottom of the page to modify the tools that are required for the procedure.
Select the “Other Resource Requirement” link from the bottom of the page to modify the other resources that are required for the procedure.
Select the “Service Requirement” link from the bottom of the page to specify the services required for carrying out the procedure.
Modify Procedure – An overview
This activity allows you to modify the details of the selected procedure and re-define its tasks by adding new tasks or deleting the tasks that are already specified for the procedure. You can modify the details of the procedure selected in the “Select Procedure” page. You can also directly enter a procedure, other than the procedure selected in the main page, and get its details for modification. The details of the procedure such as its description, status, type, category and estimated duration can be modified.
You can also modify the details of the selected procedure by copying the details from another existing procedure. You are provided with the option of including or excluding the additional resources, while copying the details from the procedure that is already defined. If you are aware of the exact procedure, you can directly enter it. Otherwise, you can make use of the help facility and select a procedure.
Note: When a procedure is modified by copying the details from another procedure, the system copies only those tasks that are not already defined for the procedure that is being modified.
You can also enter a revision number to keep track of the modifications that are made to the procedure. When a procedure is modified and a new revision number is entered, the status of the procedure that has been revised is set to “Inactive” and cannot be referred to in any other activity. The system displays the current date as the revised date.
The tasks that have already been defined for the procedure are displayed in the multiline. You can add new tasks by specifying the task directly, or use the help facility to search for a task. You can also modify or delete the tasks that are already defined for the procedure. Details such as the duration of the task and the sequence in which the task has to be performed can be modified. You can also modify the equipment condition to indicate when the task has to be performed on equipment,.
The system updates the procedure and sets the last modified date to the current date and stores the name of the user who has last modified the procedure.

Modify a procedure by copying the details from an existing task
You can modify a procedure by copying the details from an already existing procedure. You can also copy all the details of the procedure or to copy the details of the procedure along with its resource requirements.
Enter the procedure from which you wish to copy the details in the “From Proc.” field in the “Copy” group box.
Check the “Include Additional Reqt. For Procedure” box to copy the procedure along with its resource requirements.
Click the “Copy” pushbutton to copy the details of the procedure to the procedure being modified.
