Creating a logistic organization
This page allows you to create a logistic organization. You can enter a unique code and name for identifying the logistic organization. You can also enter the codes identifying the business units that must be mapped to the logistic organization. The system also stores the login ID of the user and the system date along with the newly created logistic organization details..
Select the “Create Logistic Organization” link at the bottom of the “Create Company” page.
The “Create Logistic Organization” page appears.
Enter the following fields:
Logistics Organization |
A unique code identifying the logistics organization (Alphanumeric, 20). Mandatory. |
Logistics Organization Name |
A unique name identifying the logistics organization (Alphanumeric, 40). Mandatory. |

Zoom facility available |
Effective Date |
The date from which the logistics organization is effective (Date Format). Mandatory. The date entered in this field must be after the date from which the company is effective. |
Enter the following fields in the multiline:
Business Unit |
The code identifying the business unit (Alphanumeric, 20). Mandatory. |
Press <Enter> key. |

The system retrieves and displays the corresponding business unit along with company to which it belongs. |

Note: A business unit can be mapped to a logistic organization only once.
If organization setup has not been completed, a business unit that has been unmapped from a logistic organization can be mapped to another logistic organization.
The system displays the following in the multiline:
Business Unit Name |
The name identifying the business unit. |
Company Code |
The code identifying the company. |
Company Name |
The name of the company. |
Check the box in the “Select” column of the multiline to mark the business units that must be attached to the logistic organization.
Click the “Create Logistic Organization” pushbutton to create a logistic organization.
The system saves the logistic organization details along with the business unit details in the logistics organization entity. The system also stores the login ID of the user and the system date along with logistic organization details.
The system displays the following:
Created By |
The login ID of the user who has created the logistic organization. |
Created Date |
The date on which the logistic organization was created. |
To proceed, carry out the following
Select the “Map Business Unit – Organization Unit” link at the bottom of the page to enter the details of Business Unit – Organization Unit mapping.
Select the “Edit Logistic Organization” link at the bottom of the page to modify the details of the Logistic Organization.
Select the “Maintain Languages” link at the bottom of the page maintain the language details.
Select the “Attach Notes” to record your observations regarding the newly created logistics organization unit.
Select the “View Logistic Organization” link at the bottom of the page to view the details of the Logistic Organization.
Select the “Collaborate” link at the bottom of the page to record or to view the observations or comments or discussions regarding the document.
