This activity enables you to modify a formula that is in “Inactive” status.

The “Edit Formula” page appears.

The system displays the following:

Status

The status of the formula, which is “Inactive”.

  • Inactive – indicates the status of the formula, when all mandatory fields have not yet been entered.

Formula

The code identifying the formula to be modified, which is already created (Alphanumeric, 12). Mandatory.

Help facility available

Version

A number identifying the version, which is attached to each formula (Integer).

Formula Class

The code identifying the formula class. A set of formulae are categorized or grouped to form a “Formula Class” (Alphanumeric, 40).

Help facility available

Description

The textual description of the “Formula” (Alphanumeric, 100). Mandatory.

Effective From

The date starting from which the formula is effective (Date Format). Mandatory

Effective To

The date until which the formula is effective (Date Format). This date must not be earlier than the “Effective From” date.

Instruction

The code identifying the instruction, which is attached to the formula (Alphanumeric, 255). Ensure that this code is already defined in the “Common Masters” business component.

Help facility available

The system displays the following:

Description

The textual description of the instruction.

Remarks

Any additional information pertaining to modifying the formula (Alphanumeric, 255).

Item Code

The code identifying the item to be used in the formula (Alphanumeric, 32). Mandatory. Ensure that this code has already been defined in the “Create Item – Bulk Copy“ activity of “Item Administration” business component.

Help facility available

Variant

The variant of the item (Alphanumeric, 08).

IO Type

Use the drop-down list box to select the item type, which could be the input or output item. The system lists the following:

  • Primary Input – indicates raw material or intermediate. In certain industries processing one input item can lead to multiple output items. The input item in such a case is defined as “Primary Input”.

  • Primary Product – indicates finished good or intermediate. In certain industries multiple input items blend to produce a singe output item. The output item in such a case is defined as “Primary Product”.

The system displays “Primary Product” by default.

The system displays the following:

Description

The textual description of the formula.

Quantity

The quantity of the item required in the formula (Integer). Mandatory

Note: Quantity can be in fractions only if the UOM has been set as “Fractions Allowed” in the “Create UOM” activity of the “UOM Administration” business component.

UOM

The unit of measurement of the item.

Help facility available

Serial Number

The serial number corresponding to the item/Instruction (Alphanumeric, 16). If this number is not entered for any of the rows, the system generates the line number for each item sequentially at the time of creating the formula.

IO Type

Use the drop-down list box to select the Type. The system lists the following:

  • Primary Product - indicates finished goods or intermediate. In certain industries multiple input items blend to produce a singe output item. The output item in such a case is defined as “Primary Product”.

  • Primary Input – indicates raw material or intermediate. In certain industries processing one input item can lead to multiple output items. The input item in such a case is defined as “Primary Input”.Co-Product – indicates items that are produced together with the “Primary Product”

  • By-Product – indicates unwanted product, which are produced along with the “Primary Product”.

  • Recycle – indicates secondary output item, which can be recycled.

  • Instruction – indicates the instruction id attached to the formula.

  • Instruction Text  – indicates additional information on usage of formula.

Item/Instruction

The code identifying the item/instruction, which is attached to the formula (Alphanumeric, 255).

Variant

The item variant used in the formula (Alphanumeric, 08).

The system displays the following:

Item/Instruction Description

The textual description of the Item or instruction (Alphanumeric, 255).

Quantity

The quantity of the item - mandatory for Items of Type Primary Input or Primary Product. For other Items, if Quantity is not entered, system will default Quantity as ‘0’.

UOM

The unit of measurement of the item variant.

Scaling

Use the drop-down list box to select the scaling type of the item quantity, which could be “Fixed” or “Variable”. Scaling is applicable only for items of Type ‘Input’ or ‘Primary Input’.

  • Fixed - indicates the quantity specified for the input item is the same for all quantities of the “Output Item”.

  • Variable – indicates the quantity specified for the input item varies for different Quantities of the Output Item.

Positive Tolerance %

The positive tolerance is the upper limit within which the quantity received can vary (Integer). Here, the tolerance limit affects the quantity positively.

Negative Tolerance %

The negative tolerance is the lower limit within which the quantity received can vary (Integer). Here, the tolerance limit affects the quantity negatively.

Secure View

Use the drop-down list box to specify whether a row can be viewed outside Formula Model Business Component.

  • Yes – indicates that the row cannot be viewed outside Formula Model Business Component.

  • No - indicates that the row can be viewed outside Formula Model Business Component.

Loss%

The percentage indicating the loss incurred for input items (Integer). The loss% is calculated only for the input items. The loss occurs while transporting, storage, operation etc. If any value is not specified in this field, the system displays “Zero” by default.

The system displays the following:

Item Type

The Item type could be “Raw Material”, “Intermediate”, ”Utility’, “Finished Good” or “Scrap”.

Remarks
