Create Product Structure – A summary of the activity

Component overview

Pages inside the activity

A product structure specifies the details of the output item and the input items required for planning and producing the output. Creating a product structure requires determining the primary output item and its variant. The secondary output items or the by-products can also form a part of specification. You can use a product structure for “Production”, “Costing”, “Engineering” or “Sub-Contracting”.  You can initiate a link between a process plan and a product structure either by manual mapping of a process plan to a product structure or by automatically setting a standard or alternate product structure that matches the process plan usage type.

On defining the details of the primary output item, various input and secondary output items or the by-products for it can be specified. The quantity required during setup, run and batch sub-activities can be defined for each of the input or by-product items. You can define a separate warehouse and plant for the output and input item.

Necessary help screens are incorporated with the search criteria to retrieve the details of product structures, items and warehouses. Links are provided at the bottom of the page to modify the product structures, order modifiers, option bills and notes for the selected product structure.
