Edit Item - Process Plan Link– A summary of the activity
You can create a link by identifying the product structures of the specified item. The link identifies the input items that are required to carry out each activity in the process plan. Each product structure is mapped onto a process plan. The product structure details are retrieved based on the plant or the control unit or both defined for the item. On selecting the plant and the control unit, the product structures that are defined for the item are displayed in the multiline. In the multiline, the product structure details like the category, warehouse, validity dates and lot sizes are retrieved based on the search criteria.
For each product structure a process plan number is mapped to initiate the link. You can categorize a process plan as an item specific or generic one. A process plan is said to be “Generic “ if the specific item is not mapped to the process plan that is the process plan can be used for multiple items. In the case of specific process plan, the process plan is defined for a particular item and not for other items. If the process plan is already defined for the product structure, the process plan number gets fetched automatically. In order to map a process plan to a product structure, you need to match the item defined in the item-process plan with the item of the product structure. Further the plant, UOM, usage and category of the item defined in the product structure is matched with that of the process plan. Necessary help search screens are provided to retrieve the item and process plan details.
