This activity allows you to define a link between the process plan and the product structure of an item. Tell me more
Select the “Edit Item - Process Plan Link” link under the “Bill Of Material Model” business component.
The “Edit Item - Process Plan Link” page appears.
Modify the following details, if required:
Item Code |
The code identifying the item for which product structures and the associated process plans are to be modified. |
Press <Enter> key. |

The item should not be left blank. The item should exist in the item master and should be in “Active” status. If the item has variants, then the variant should not be blank. If the item has only one variant attached to it, then the system retrieves the variant, description and UOM. If a variant is specified, it should have been attached to the item. The system retrieves the corresponding details in the multiline. |

The code or the number identifying the variant of the item. |
The system displays the following:

The description in the combination of the item/item variant. For the item/variant combination, the system retrieves the description. |

Modify the following, if required:
Plant |
Use the drop-down list box to select the valid plant for the selected item. If the “Bill of Material Model” business component is talking to only one warehouse Organization Unit as defined in the “CIM Model” business component, the system automatically defaults the Organization Unit. In case of multiple Organization Units of the “Item Administration” business component mapped, then the system displays the “First Organization Unit” as the default plant. |
Maintained By |
Use the drop-down list box to select the “Maintained By” control units for which the login user has “View” access permission. The system retrieves the control units along with a blank value. The system displays “Blank” by default on launch of the page. |
The system displays the following:
Mfg. UOM |
The production unit of measure of an item. The system retrieves the UOM for the item/variant combination. |
Click “Get Details” pushbutton to retrieve the product structure details that matches the search criteria.
The system retrieves the following in the multiline:
Displays all the product structures based on the item/item variant combination.
If plant is left blank, then the system displays the product structures for all plants. Otherwise the system displays only the product structure for the selected plant.
If maintained by is selected, then displays only the corresponding product structures. Otherwise, displays all product structures for which the login user has at least “View” access permission.
The material planner is retrieved for the combination of item, Organization Unit and warehouse combination.
The production controller is retrieved from the process plan if it is defined already for the product structure. Otherwise displays blank.
The PS desc, PS category, valid from, valid to, min order qty, max order qty, order step qty fields are retrieved from the respective product structure of the item.
The system displays the following in the “PP-PS Details” multiline:

The process plan should exist and should be valid for the same Business Unit as that of the product structure. For the process plan number, the system retrieves the details of the plant and production controller. |

The system displays the following in the “PP-PS Details” multiline:

The plant where the item defined for the product structure is identified. |
Warehouse Code |
The code identifying the warehouse where the item defined for the product structure is identified. |
Prodn. Controller |
The production controller defined in the control unit. |
Valid From |
The date from which the item of the product structure is valid. |
Valid To |
The date till which the item of the product structure is valid. |
Min. Lot size |
The minimum lot size that is compatible with the product structure. |
Max. Lot Size |
The maximum lot size that is compatible with the product structure. |
Lot Size Step |
The lot size step that is used to find the optimal order quantity. The minimum lot size is incremented by a multiple of this quantity to arrive at an optimal work order quantity. |
Check the box in the "Select" column of the multiline to select the process plan for modifying its details.
Click the “Edit Item-Process Plan Link ” pushbutton to modify the item-process plan details.
The system ensures that the login user should have at least “Modify” access permission to the “Maintained By” control unit for all the product structures selected. It also ensures that at least one product structure exists for the item code.
The system saves the details of the item and process plan link. For the selected row, if PP number is left blank then the system removes the link between the product structure and process plan (if any) and the status of the PP number is set to “Inactive”. For the selected row, if the PP number is specified, then the system links the corresponding product structure and process plan and the status is set to “Active”.

Select the “Edit Item Process Plan” link at the bottom of the page to modify the item process plan details.
Select the “Edit Order Modifiers” link at the bottom of the page to modify the order modifier details.
Select the “Create Product Structure” link at the bottom of the page to create the product structure details.
Select the “Create Item Process Plan” link at the bottom of the page to create the item process plan details.
