Using online help

This activity allows you to modify the day type details for the selected day type. You can enter the day type if the same is known or can make use of the help facility. On selecting the appropriate day type, you can modify the necessary fields together with the timetable attached to each of the day type. You can attach a different timetable by making use of the help facility and can modify the holiday details by selecting or deselecting the same. On specifying the necessary details, you can modify and update the changes made to the selected day type.  You are provided with link that allows you to create the shift details for the selected day type.

The “Edit Day Types” page appears.

Day Type No.

The unique number identifying the day type either entered manually selected using the help facility.  Mandatory.

 

Press <Enter> key.

 

The day type should not be left blank and should not exist in day type master. The system retrieves the corresponding details for the specified day type number.

The description of the day type.

 

Zoom facility available.

Status

Use the drop-down list box to select the status of the day type. The system displays “Active” by default on launch of the page. The options available are

 
  • Active – indicates valid day type.

 
  • Draft – indicates incomplete day type.

 
  • Inactive – indicates invalid day type.

Note: The “Edit Day Types” screen can be modified only in “Draft” status.

Maintained By

Use the drop-down list box to select the “Maintained By” control units for which the login user has at least “View” access permission. The system displays “Default Maintained By” by default on launch of the page.

Time Table No.

The number identifying the timetable either entered manually or retrieved using the help facility. If the timetable is specified, it should exist in the timetable master. If the holiday field is checked, then the timetable number should  be left blank.

 

Help facility available.

Holiday

Select the check box to indicate whether the type of the day is a holiday or not. The system leaves the box “Unchecked” by default on launch of the page. If the holiday field is unchecked, then the timetable should not be left blank.

The system ensures that the login user should have “Modify” access permission to the “Maintained By” control unit. The system checks the status of the day type. If the status is “Inactive” or “Draft” then the system saves the day type details without generating the validations. The system updates the day type details.

To proceed, carry out the following

The login user ID and the system date are updated in the “Created By”, “Created Date”, ”Edited By” and “Edited Date” fields.

The system displays the following:

Created By

The login user ID of the person who has created the day types.

Created Date

The date on which the day types was created.

Edited By

The login user ID of the person who has modified the day types.

Edited Date

The date on which the day types was modified.
