Create Procedure – An overview
In this page, you can create a procedure with a unique code and a description.
You can identify the type of the procedure, set the status and enter the estimated duration for the completion of the procedure. The type of the procedure has to be selected from the set of user–defined types that have been defined in the “Define Task Types” activity. You can also specify the category to which the procedure belongs from the set of user–defined categories that have been defined in the “Define Task Categories” activity.
You can also specify a revision number for the procedure.
Note: A revision number is used to trace the changes that are made to the procedure. A procedure can undergo multiple revisions based on the modifications that are made to the procedure.
You can also create a new procedure by copying the details from a procedure that is already defined in the system. If you know the procedure from which the details are to be copied, you can directly enter it or you can make use of the help facility and select a procedure. You have the option of including or excluding the additional resources while copying the details from the procedure that is already defined.
You can specify the tasks that belong to the procedure along with the sequence number to indicate the order in which the tasks must be performed within the procedure. You can also specify when the task has to be performed on equipment along with the duration for the completion of the task. A task can be performed on an equipment when the equipment is in one of the following states:
Online – This indicates that the task must be performed on an equipment when it is in operation.
Offline - This indicates that the task must be performed on an equipment when it is not running
Not Applicable - This indicates that the task must be performed on a location or if the task can be performed on equipment that is either in operation or not in operation.
The procedure creation date is set to the current system date and stores the login ID of the user who has created the procedure.
