View BOM Full Explosion – A summary of the activity.
The bill of material of an item displays all the input items that are required to manufacture the item. An item may be valid in more than one product structure and can be viewed by exploding the corresponding product structures. The display is based on the number of levels specified. All the occurrences of an item at various levels can be viewed using this screen. The items defined at each level with their respective product structures are displayed in the multiline. The explosion quantity and the date refer to the quantity of the Item/planning group required and the date on which the Bill of Material is to be viewed. The product structure category and usage for the Item can also be selected. The relevant product structure of the item can be either retrieved using the search criteria or entered manually if the same is known. The system also retrieves the default product structure for the item, quantity and date combination.
You can retrieve the bill of material details for the date and quantity conditions or can ignore the conditions. You can also consider the product structures for items across business units. This feature helps to identify valid product structure if it does not exists in the login user organization unit. The save template feature helps to save the default fields and avoids unnecessary entry in the screen. On entering the necessary fields, the corresponding results are retrieved in the multiline. Help screens are defined to search the items, planning groups and the product structures.
After the bill of material details is retrieved in the multiline, you can download the details to an excel sheet using the download operation. This task transfers all the page details to an excel file and opens the file for viewing and saving. You can make use of the links provided at the bottom of the page to modify the planning bills and product structures.
