Create Task – A summary of the activity

This activity allows you to define a task, which is the basic unit of maintenance work that is carried out on equipment or a location. Each task can have one or more activities attached to it, along with the sequence number, which specifies the order in which the activities have to be performed within the task. Tasks can be classified as routine and non-routine tasks. A routine task is a standard or conventional way of carrying out a maintenance activity in the plant. A non-routine task is  a non-standard way of carrying out a maintenance activity in the plant. A non-routine task is not pre-defined in the system and is generated as and when required from the work order or from a maintenance plan that  are created for carrying out a maintenance activity. A non-routine task thus created can be converted to a routine task for repetitive use.

In the “Create Task” activity, you can define a routine task with a unique code and a description. The requirements for carrying out the task such as tool, skills, other resources and spare parts can also be specified. You can define the task and all its activities in the “Create Task” page.
