In this activity, you can maintain the service work orders for any service rendered to the customer’s product. The examples of the different types of services may be repairing a product, movement of a product, installation of a product or any other precautionary maintenance work that must be carried out on the product sold. You can record the details in this activity depending on the type of service provided for the customer.

Maintaining service work order: You can record the work order details, accounting details of the work order, scheduling and the actual dates of the different type of services rendered to the customer. The accounting details for the service work order are retrieved from the “Account Role Definition” component of the Finance business process.

The primary task for the maintenance of the service work order is scheduling of work orders, which is done based on the availability of resources. A work order must be scheduled before its execution.

You can schedule a work order by specifying the start dates and the completion dates for the work order and also by specifying the work group that would be responsible for carrying out the work order. A work order can be scheduled by “Work order” or it can be scheduled by “Task”. You can schedule a work order by “Work order”, by specifying the start and the completion dates and time of the work order. You can schedule a work order by “Task”, by specifying the start and the completion dates and time for each task that is to be carried out in the work order.

You can create, edit and cancel the service work order details.

Attaching Tasks: Apart from the tasks attached to the work order, you can attach multiple tasks to units of the Work Order. These tasks can be edited or deleted, if required.

Maintaining References: You can maintain the references of the customer complaint and the details of agreement for preventive maintenance work order.

Maintaining Spares: You can maintain the details of the quantity of spare parts required, spare parts consumed and the cost of the spares required for a service work order. You can enter the spare requirement only for the service work order of  “Fresh”, “Schedule” or “In Progress” statuses. You can enter the details of the spares consumed for the service work order of “Schedule” “In Progress” or “Completed” statuses.

Maintaining labor requirement details: You can maintain the labor requirement details and actual details for executing the tasks of the service work order.
