Using online help

This page allows you to maintain storage information of the warehouse.

The “Maintain Storage Information” page appears.

Warehouse Code

A unique code identifying the warehouse (Alphanumeric, 10). Mandatory. The code must have been defined in the “Create Storage Information” activity.

 

Help facility available

The system displays the following.

Warehouse Desc.

The system displays the description of the warehouse upon selecting the warehouse code.

Warehouse Type

The system displays any one of the following types of the warehouse.

 

  • Normal - Zones and bins can be defined for storing the items in this type of warehouse.

 

  • Free - Items are stored in bulk in this type of warehouse. Zones and bins cannot be defined in this type of warehouse.

Status

Use the drop-down list box to select the status of the warehouse. The status may be “Active” or “Inactive”.

Length

The length of the warehouse(Numeric, 29).

Breadth

The breadth of the warehouse (Numeric, 29).

Height

The height of the warehouse (Numeric, 29).

Dimension UOM

The Unit of Measurement for the dimensions specified(Alphanumeric, 10).

 The volume of the warehouse.

Volume UOM

The Unit of Measurement for the volume of the warehouse (Alphanumeric, 10).

Area

The area of the warehouse (Numeric, 29).

Area UOM

The Unit of Measurement for the area of the warehouse (Alphanumeric, 10).

Capacity

The storage capacity of the warehouse (Numeric, 29).

Capacity UOM

The Unit of Measurement for the storage capacity of the warehouse (Alphanumeric, 10).

Reason Code

The reason code to be entered while deactivating / activating the warehouse information. (Alphanumeric, 256).

The system displays the following.

Reason Desc.

The system displays the reason description if the user selected the reason code using the help facility.

WH Finance Book

The finance book to which the warehouse belongs.

WH Transaction Type

The transaction type of the warehouse. The system displays any one of the following options:  “Trading”, “Manufacturing”, “Commercial” or “Capital”.

Site Code

A code identifying the location of the site.

Bonded Warehouse

Identifies the warehouse as “Bonded”. The items stored in this warehouse can be bonded.

Customer Code

The code identifying the customer for whom the warehouse is allocated.

The system displays the following.

Customer Name

The name of the customer.

Structure

Use the drop-down list box to specify whether the warehouse is covered or not. The combo is loaded with options “Covered” and “Uncovered”.

Valid From

The date from which the warehouse allocation to the customer is valid.

Valid To

The date until which the warehouse allocation to the customer is valid.

Dimension UOM

The Unit of Measurement(UOM) applicable for the dimensions of the zone (Alphanumeric, 10).

Aisle Volume UOM

The Unit of Measurement(UOM) applicable for the aisle volume of the zone (Alphanumeric, 10).

Weight UOM

The Unit of Measurement (UOM) applicable for the weight that can be stored in the  zone.

Area UOM

The Unit of Measurement(UOM) applicable for the area of the zone (Alphanumeric, 10).

Volume UOM

The Unit of Measurement(UOM) applicable for the volume of the zone (Alphanumeric, 10).

Capacity UOM

The Unit of Measurement(UOM) applicable for the capacity of the zone (Alphanumeric, 10).

Note: Zone cannot be created for “Free” warehouse type.

Zone Code

A unique code identifying the zone in the warehouse (Alphanumeric, 10). Mandatory. This can be a combination of characters and digits. This number should be unique within the warehouse.

Note: The system generates the zone code based on the Naming Defaults set in ‘Set Default Method’ activity, if the user does not specify the zone codes.

Zone Type

Use the drop-down list box to specify any one of the types of warehouse. 

 

  • Normal – Bins can be defined within a “Normal” zone for storing the items.

 

  •  Free - Items are stored in bulk. Bins cannot be defined in “Free” zones.

Zone Desc.

The description of the zone (Alphanumeric, 40). Mandatory.

Picking Priority

The priority of issuing the items from the zone (Integer). The number entered here should be greater than zero. This number should be unique within the multiline.

Length

The length of the zone in the warehouse (Numeric, 29).

Breadth

The breadth of the zone in the warehouse (Numeric, 29).

Height

The height of the zone in the warehouse(Numeric, 29).

Capacity

The capacity of the zone in the warehouse(Numeric, 29).

Volume

The volume of the zone in the warehouse(Numeric, 29).

Area

The area of the zone in the warehouse (Numeric, 29).

Aisle Volume

The aisle volume of the zone in the warehouse (Numeric, 29).

Weight

The weight of the material that can be stored in the zone in the warehouse.

No. of Rows

The number of rows in each zone of the warehouse (Alphanumeric, 28).

Reason Code

The unique reason code must be entered if zone has to be inactivated (Alphanumeric, 256).

 

Help facility available

Distance

The distance of the specific zone from the first zone in the warehouse (Numeric, 29). Note that the distance of one of the zones in the warehouse must be “0” and this zone will be the reference zone to define distance for other zones.

Distance UOM

The Unit of Measurement (UOM) of the zone (Alphanumeric, 10).

Status

Use the drop-down list box to select any one of the following options.

 

  • “Active”

 

  • “Inactive”

Remark

The remarks pertaining to the specific zone (Alphanumeric, 255).

Customer Code

The code identifying the customer for whom the warehouse is allocated.

The system displays the following.

Customer Name

The name of the customer.

Valid From

The date from which the warehouse allocation to the customer is valid.

Valid To

The date until which the warehouse allocation to the customer is valid.

The system displays the following in the header. 

No. of Zones

The number of zones in the warehouse.

Computed Volume

The system displays the computed volume, which is the sum of the volume of all the zones in the warehouse.

The system displays the following in the “Zone Details” multiline 

Created By

The login id of the person who maintained the warehouse information.

Created Date

The date on which the warehouse information was created.

Last Modified By

The login id of the person who last modified the warehouse information.

Last Modified Date

The date on which the warehouse information was last modified.

Note: You can enter the additional details only for “Normal” zone type. The storage level codes such as Row. Rack, Level and Bin codes are generated automatically based on the Naming Default set in ‘Set Default Method’ activity. The user also has the provision to create codes manually. Based on the No. of storage levels specified, the codes are generated for the subsequent storage level.

Zone

Use the drop-down list box to select the zone for which you require to enter the additional details. The system loads the drop-down list box with all the normal zones created in the “Zone Details” multiline for the warehouse.

The system displays the following.

Zone Desc.

The system displays the description of the zone in the warehouse upon selecting the zone.

Zone Type

The system displays the type of zone for the selected zone. Note that additional details can be entered only for “ Normal” zone types and not for “Free” zone types.

Row

Initially, the “Row” drop-down list box will not be loaded with any values. The drop-down list box gets loaded with the Rows codes based on the No. of rows specified in zone details. .

Rack

Initially, the “Rack” drop-down list box will not be loaded with any values. The drop-down list box gets loaded with the Racks codes based on the No. of storage level specified in row details.

Level

Initially, the “Level” drop-down list box will not be loaded with any values. The drop-down list box gets loaded with the Levels codes based on the No. of storage level specified in rack details.

Category

The unique code for the category of storage level (Alphanumeric, 10).

Storage Level

Use the drop- down list box to specify the storage level. The drop- down list box is loaded with values ‘Row’, ‘Rack’, ‘Level’ and ‘Bin’. The system defaults the value “ROW” across multiple rows in the multiline depending on the “No. of Rows” specified in the “Zone Details” multiline. Example, if a zone has “No. of Rows as “5”, 5 rows in the multiline will be defaulted with the value “ROW”.

The valid option that can be selected are           

 

  •   ROW

 

  •  RACK

 

  • LEVEL

 

  •   BIN

Note:  Storage levels are created in this hierarchy - Row-Rack–Level-Bin. Based on the No. of storage level specified the subsequent storage levels are created.

Rows are created based on the No. of rows specified for a specific Zone. Alternatively, the user also has the provision to manually create or add new rows and No. of Rows will get updated accordingly.

Racks are created based on the No. of storage level specified for a specific zone – row combination. Alternatively, the user also has the provision to manually create or add new racks and No. of storage level will get updated accordingly.

Levels are created based on the No. of storage level specified for a specific zone – row –rack combination. Alternatively, the user also has the provision to manually create or add new levels and No. of storage level will get updated accordingly.

Bins are created based on the No. of storage level specified for a specific zone – row –rack -level combination. Alternatively, the user also has the provision to manually create or add new bins and No. of storage level will get updated accordingly.

Desc.

A description of the category of storage level (Alphanumeric, 40).

Picking Priority

The capacity of the selected storage level and category (Numeric, 29).

The volume of the selected storage level and category (Numeric, 29).

Aisle Volume

The aisle volume of the selected storage level and category (Numeric, 29).

The unit of measurement for the aisle volume of the selected storage level and category (Alphanumeric, 10).

No. of Storage Levels

The number of immediate subsequent storage levels under the selected storage level.(Alphanumeric, 28). Example, if there are 3 Racks under the storage level ROW, enter 3 in this field. Upon save, the system defaults the value “RACK” across 3 rows in the multiline.  

Reason Code

The reason code pertaining to the category is mandatory if you are deactivating the selected storage level and category (alphanumeric, 10).

 

Help facility available

Distance

The distance of the specific bin from the first bin in the zone (Numeric, 29). Note that the distance of one of the bins in the warehouse must be “0” and this bin will be the reference bin to define distance for other bins. (Numeric, 29).  Distance details are not specified for the storage levels – Row, Rack and Level.

Distance UOM

The unit of measurement for the distance (Alphanumeric, 10).

Use the drop-down list box to select any one of the following options for the selected storage level and category.

 

  •  Active

 

  •  Inactive

Remarks

The remarks pertaining to the selected storage level and category (Alphanumeric, 20).

Customer Code

The code identifying the customer for whom the warehouse is allocated.

The system displays the following.

Customer Name

The name of the customer.

Valid From

The date from which the warehouse allocation to the customer is valid.

Valid To

The date until which the warehouse allocation to the customer is valid.

The system displays the following in the header. 

No. of Bins

The number of bins in the warehouse.

The system displays the following details in the multiline:

Created By

The login id of the person who entered the additional details of the selected storage level and category of the zone.

Created Date

The date on which the additional details of the selected storage level and category of the zone was created.

Last Modified By

The login id of the person who last modified the additional details of the selected storage level and category of the zone.

Last Modified Date

The date on which the additional details of the selected storage level and category of the zone was last modified.

The system displays the following details below the multiline.

Created By

The login id of the person who maintained the warehouse information.

Created Date

The date on which the warehouse information was created.

Last Modified By

The login id of the person who last modified the warehouse information.

Last Modified Date

The date on which the warehouse information was last modified.

Note : You cannot delete the Storage levels (Zone, Row, Rack Level, and Bins) if the storage levels or subsequent storage levels have any stock or the storage levels are involved in any transaction.
