Edit Engineering Change Request

This page allows you to make changes to the selected engineering change requests. The request for which the changes are required can be specified and the system retrieves the corresponding engineering change request details to the respective fields. You can make the necessary modification to the retrieved request details.

You can also modify the item, component and process plan details associated with the request, the implementation steps and notes defined for the engineering change request by initiating the respective links at the bottom of the page. The modified request can be implemented using the implement engineering change request link.

Select the “Edit Engineering Change Request” link at the bottom of the page.

The “Edit Engineering Change Request” page appears.

Modify the following details, if required:

ECR No.

The number identifying the engineering change request. It can be either a system generated number or manually entered number. If ECR number is system generated, then the system retrieves the numbering type with order type and also retrieves the number scheme and last generated number, to generate a new ECR No. If the ECR No is specified, the system checks whether the ECR No already exists or not. If it does not exist, the system will display an error message.

Click the “Get Details” pushbutton to retrieve the engineering change request details.

Modify the following, if required:

ECR Desc.	The description of the engineering change request.
	Zoom facility available.
ECR Status	Use the drop-down list box to select the status of the engineering change request. You can select from "Active", "Inactive", "Authorized", "Resolved" or "Implemented". The system displays “Active” by default on launch of the page. You can set the document status as "Active" or "Inactive" status only. The system checks whether the engineering change permissions exist for the control unit requesting the engineering change. The options available are:
Maintained By	Use the drop-down list box to select the “Maintained By” control unit for which the login user has EC permissions. The system retrieves the control units from the “Organisation Model”.
EC Desc.	The description of the engineering change.
	Zoom facility available.
Authorized By	The person authorized to implement the engineering change request. The system sets the “Login User” in Authorized by only if the ECR status is set to “Authorized”.
Problem Desc.	The description of the problem based on which the engineering change request is modified.
Benefits Desc.	The description of the benefits that are the outcomes of implementing engineering change.
ECR Type	Use the drop-down list box to select the type of the engineering change request. You can select from "Engineering", "Production", "Subcontracting" or "All". The system displays “Production” by default on launch of the page.
	All – indicates that all the process plans/product structures are under engineering change.
	Engineering – indicates that the process plans/product structures categorized as “Engineering” are under engineering change.
	Production – indicates that the process plans/product structures categorized as “Production” are under engineering change.
	SubContracting – indicates that the process plans/product structures categorized as “Subcontract” are under engineering change.
Priority	The priority with which engineering change request is to be proceeded. The system displays “1” by default on launch of the page. The range is between “1” (maximum) to “9” (least).
Requested By	The person who is responsible for requesting the engineering change.
EC Benefits	The cost saving accrued by implementing the engineering change. The number specified is the savings accrued in local currency value.
EC Need Date	The date by which the engineering change is to be implemented. The system checks whether the engineering change need date is earlier than the current date and displays an error message accordingly.
Requested Date	The date on which the engineering change is requested.
EC Impl. Cost	The cost of implementing the engineering change.
Addl. Information	Any additional information pertaining to the engineering change.
	Zoom facility available.

Click the “Edit ECR” pushbutton to modify the engineering change request.

The engineering change request can be set as "Active" or "inactive" status only. The system saves the modified engineering change request details.

To proceed, carry out the following

Select the “Edit Item Revision” link at the bottom of the page to modify the item revision details.

Select the “Edit Component Revision” link at the bottom of the page to modify the component revision details.

Select the “Edit Process Plan Revision” link at the bottom of the page to modify the process Plan revision details.

Select the “Edit ECR Implementation Steps” link at the bottom of the page to modify the engineering change steps.
Select the “Attach Notes” link at the bottom of the page to modify the engineering change notes details.

Select the “Implement Engineering Change” link at the bottom of the page to implement the engineering changes.

The system displays the following:

Created By	The login ID of the user who created the engineering change request.
Created Date	The date on which the engineering change request was created.
Edited By	The login ID of the user who modified the engineering change request.
Edited Date	The date on which the engineering change request was modified.
