Supply Chain Planning – An overview

Introduction

Supply chain planning enables you to plan your requirements across the distribution network, master schedule the finished products or other items in respective plants, release plans for the Material requirements planning function and effectively manage the demand supply across the entire supply chain. The master schedule may be used to manage the production schedules, which may be validated using the rough-cut capacity plan tool, which then becomes the input the material requirements planning engine. Based on the configuration done for your organization, you may view the action messages generated by the planning engine and take corresponding action on them.
