Create Company Calendar – A summary of the activity
A company calendar is used to define the functioning and non-functioning days of an organizational unit during a period, usually a year. You must specify the date from which the calendar is to be generated. The working and non-working times are calculated with respect to each day of the year. Each day is differentiated as a working or non-working day, which is associated with various day types.
A day type indicates whether the day to which it corresponds is a working or non-working day. You must map these day types onto the individual days of the week. By mapping a day onto a day type, you are defining a condition that only the selected day type can be used on that day. When the mapping is done for all the seven days, the system determines the day types for all the other days of the calendar period. This is done by replicating the conditions defined here for each week. You can generate a resource calendar for the specified company calendar from within this screen.
In case, a different day type has to be used on a particular day, you can update it manually in the multiline by entering valid from and to dates along with the day of the week and day type. For example, if January 1st is declared as a holiday, then you can explicitly indicate this holiday by selecting the appropriate day of the week and the day type attached to the day. Help screen is provided to search and retrieve the relevant information about the company calendar. Links are provided to modify and view the company calendar details. You can also make use of the links to create the day types and resource calendars.
