Create Pack Slip – A summary of the activity
This activity allows you to create pack slip. Pack slips are documents that are sent to the customer, normally sent along with the goods, indicating the details of the shipments such as customer, item in the pack, carrier, vehicle, freight bill number, insurance number and its details and packing details. This activity also allows you to generate pack slips directly from the order and proceed with allocation, picking, issue and ship confirmation. Once the pack slips are ready, the items can be shipped.
The required order schedules can be selected and separate pack slip will be generated in any of the status namely “Open”, “Issued”, “Allocated” or “Staged”, with unique pack slip number based on the numbering type selected. This activity also allows you to allocate the quantity specified in the pack slip and to specify the accounting details for the selected pack slip number.

Ref. Doc. Type |
Use the drop-down list box to select the type of reference document. The system displays “Sales Order” by default on launch of the page. Based on the mapping done in “Component Interaction Model” business component, the system loads the following values: |

All the receiving points mapped in the “Component Interaction Model” business component will be available for selection only if reference document type is set to “Stock Transfer Order”. |
Enter the following details in the “Search Criteria” group box to search for the order number. Data-entry in the following fields is optional.:

Order No. From |
The starting number in the range of reference document type orders numbers for which the details are to be retrieved (Alphanumeric, 18). You can also enter the number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system lists all the reference document type order numbers that are greater than or equal to the value entered here. If this field is left blank and the “To” field is entered, then the system retrieves the reference document type orders starting from the first reference document type order number till the reference document type order number specified in the “To” field. |

Order No. To |
The ending number in the range of reference document type orders numbers for which the details are to be retrieved (Alphanumeric, 18). The system lists all the reference document type order numbers that are lesser than the value entered here. The number entered here must be greater than the number entered in the “Order No. From” field. |

Bill To Customer |
The code identifying the bill to customer to whom invoices are to be sent (Alphanumeric, 18). |
|
Order Date From |
The starting date in the range of dates from which the order details must be retrieved (Date Format). The value entered in this field must be less than or equal to the system date. The system date is displayed by default on launch of the page. |

Order Date To |
The ending date in the range of dates from which the order details must be retrieved (Date Format). The value entered in this field must be greater than or equal to the value entered in the “Order Date From” field. |

WareHouse Code |
The code identifying the warehouse from which the goods must be dispatched (Alphanumeric, 10). |
|
Reservation Date From |
The starting date in the range of dates from which the goods are reserved in the warehouse (Date Format). The value entered in this field must be less than or equal to the system date. The system date is displayed by default on launch of the page. |

Reservation Date To |
The ending date in the range of dates from which the goods are reserved in the warehouse (Date Format). The value entered in this field must be greater than or equal to the value entered in the “Reservation Date From” field. |

Ship To Id. |
The address of the location at which the goods must be delivered (Alphanumeric, 18). |

To Ship Date From |
The starting date in the range of dates on which the finished goods are to be shipped from the shipping point to the delivery area (Date Format). The value entered in this field must be less than or equal to the system date. The system date is displayed by default on launch of the page. |

To Ship Date To |
The ending date in the range of dates on which the finished goods are to be shipped from the shipping point to the delivery area (Date Format). The value entered in this field must be greater than or equal to the value entered in the “To-Ship Date From” field. |

Ship Partial |
Use the drop-down list box to indicate whether the goods are to be shipped partially or not. You can select from “Yes”, “No” or “Both”. The system displays “Both” by default on launch of the page. |

Carrier Code |
The code identifying the carrier through which the goods must be dispatched (Alphanumeric, 20). |
|
Shipment Mode |
Use the drop-down list box to select the mode of shipment in which the goods are to be dispatched. The values are populated from the “Category” business component. The system displays “Any” by default on launch of the page. |

Ordering Point |
Use the drop-down list box to select the point at which an order can be raised. |
|
Ordering Priority From |
Use the drop-down list box to select the starting priority number in the range of numbers for which the order details are to be retrieved. You can select from “1”, “2”, “3”, “4”, “5”. The system displays “1” by default on launch of the page. |

Ordering Priority To |
Use the drop-down list box to select the ending priority number in the range of numbers for which the order details are to be retrieved. You can select from “1”, “2”, “3”, “4”, “5”. The system displays “5” by default on launch of the page. |

Source Doc. |
Use the drop-down list box to select the source document. |
Note: The values for the “Source Document” field are populated only on selection of “MTL. Lost In Transit”, “COD-Sales Order” option of the “Ref. Doc Type “ field.
Note: For all the “Ref Doc. Type” other than “Stock Transfer Order”, the system checks if “Ship to Customer” field is left null. If so the system throws an appropriate error message.
Click the “Search” pushbutton to retrieve the search results.
The system retrieves the order schedule details only if 1) The orders are in “Authorized” status. 2) The line schedule for which Bill To and Ship To customers are in “Active” status. 3) The business unit and the company belong to the same order schedule.
If the “Ref Doc. Type” selected is “Stock Transfer Order” then the “Bill To Customer” and “Order Priority From and To” fields can be left blank.
For all the “Ref. Doc. Type” other than “Normal Sale Order \ Quick Sale Order ”, the “Order Priority From and To” can be left blank.
The system sorts the order based on “Ship to ID/ Site ID”, “Shipment Mode” and “Carrier”.
If the pack slip UOM is stock UOM then the stock UOM for the line item is retrieved. If the pack slip UOM is different from sale order UOM then the sale order UOM is converted to pack slip UOM.
If the “Item type” is “Model/Kit” then the constituent Item should be grouped by the Model/Kit Ref. No.
If the “Item Type” is Model/ Kit and the Item code is Model code/ Kit code then the UOM is just model(s) or kit(s) respectively.
(1) If “Item Type” is Model/Kit and Item code is Model Code/Kit Code and the variant code is “Configuration No.”, then to retrieve the “To-ship Qty”.
(2) If “Item Type” is Model/Kit and Item code and variant code is “Normal Item Variant” then the system retrieves and displays the normal balance quantity for each of the Items of the Bill Of Material.
The system retrieves and displays the following in the “Search Results” multiline based on the search criteria entered:

The unit of measurement of the item. |

Ship Together |
To indicate whether the goods are to be shipped together or not. It can be either “Yes” or “No”. |

Select Order Schedule – An overview

Pack slips can be generated for order schedules from multiple sale orders. The pack slip can be created with or without a reference document type. Based on the mapping done in “Component Interaction Model” business component, the values are populated for the reference document type field. The pack slip can be created based on “Normal Sale Order” or “Quick Sale Order” or “Stock Transfer Order” or “Sales Return” or “Bill and Hold” or “Materials Lost in Transit”. You can search by specifying a range for order number, order date or warehouse. You can search by specifying a range for reservation date, To-ship date, carrier by which the items are to be shipped or the mode of shipment. You can also search by specifying the ordering point or by specifying a range for ordering priority. Based on the search criteria specified, the results are retrieved and displayed in the multiline.

Pack Slip No. |
The unique number identifying the pack slip that is being created (Alphanumeric, 18). The number will be automatically generated if the “Numbering Type” not set to “Manual”. It checks for the existence of the number and also if it there are any special characters or space in it. If the order number exists, the pack slip number is generated till a unique number is obtained. The number is displayed with the corresponding prefix and suffix of the numbering type selected in the “Numbering Type” field. |

The date on which the pack slip was created (Date Format). The system date is displayed by default on launch of the page. The date should not be greater than the open financial period. |

Numbering Type |
Use the drop-down list box to select the numbering type. The values are populated from the “Numbering Class” business component. |

Note: If the ship partial is set to “No”, the system checks if the pack slip quantity is equal to the total schedule quantity(as Specified in the Sales Order) within the specified tolerance. The system retrieves the shipping tolerance from sale order if pack slip for is "Sales order" or "Consignment Sales Order" or "COD-Sales order". The system checks for the status of the order for the order nos. in the reference document type. If the status of any of the line is other than “Authorized”, it throws an error message.
Check the box in the “Select” column of the multiline to select the pack slip number for which the allocation is to be done.
Click the “Create Pack Slip” pushbutton to create a pack slip.
If the pack slip UOM is different from sale order UOM then the sale order UOM is converted to pack slip UOM.
If the reference document type is not "Customer Material Request", then the status of the pack slip is updated to “Open”.
If the reference document type is "Customer Material Request", then the status of the pack slip is updated to “Allocated”.
The system saves the accounting information and pack slip details.
For each line in the multiline, the order schedule quantity is compared with the order schedule quantity in the order. If the order schedule quantity has been amended then the amended quantity is saved and it is checked if it is greater than or equal to the difference of pack slip quantity and shipping tolerance quantity. Or else it throws an error message.
Click the “Print Packslip” pushbutton to print the created pack slip details.
To proceed, carry out the following

Select the “Accounting Information” link at the bottom of the page to specify accounting information details.
Select the “Attach Notes” link at the bottom of the page to specify notes details.

The login user ID of the person who has created the pack slip. |

Create Pack Slip – An overview

The pack slip number is entered manually or can be generated automatically with corresponding prefix and suffix of the numbering type. Only those orders that are in “Authorized” status are retrieved for creation of pack slip. Based on the reference document number selected ship to customer code, the customer and the item details are retrieved and displayed in this page. You can enter the shipment mode and the carrier code for the shipment of goods. You can also specify the pack slip quantity. If the pack slip quantity is available in the warehouse then it can be shipped. Or else the quantity available in the warehouse can be shipped immediately.
The status of the pack slip is updated to "Open" in all cases except when the reference document type is set to “Customer Material Request”. If the reference document type is set to “Customer Material Request” then the status is updated to "Allocated". The “Staged” status and the concept associated to it would be used in the Allocate and issue page of pack slip. You can also view the details of the file, for example to view the drawings attached and also print the created pack slip details.
The reference document of the pack slip should be in “Authorized” status.
Accounting information that is, analysis code and subanalysis code should be defined for the combination of parameters that are passed from pack slip.
