Process Model – An overview
Introduction
The model helps you in maintaining the process plan for an item. A process plan defines the step-by-step activities you perform in order to manufacture a product. Each process plan can have any number of activities, and each activity in turn may have any number of resources that may be used in order to perform that activity. Also these resources can be assigned to specific departments. An activity is a single task or job that is used to convert a set of input items to the desired output items, using the resources, which may be machines, work centers, operators, or tools. The process plan provides important information to the capacity planning in the shop floor. Bill of resources may also be defined for the master schedule items, which support the rough-cut capacity planning process. The activity standard costs may also be modeled herewith.
