Process Clearance Request – A summary of the activity

This activity allows you to process the details of a clearance request. Processing means approving a clearance request by creating a clearance permit from it, or rejecting a clearance request. The department that is responsible for creating the clearance permit does both the creation of clearance permits from the clearance request and the rejection of clearance requests.

Note: The rights for processing a clearance request raised for a particular equipment/location/permit type are set in the “Create User Roles and Rights” activity.

The status of the clearance request changes to “Rejected” on rejection and “Approved” when a clearance permit is created from the clearance request.

Note: You can also create a clearance permit from an already approved clearance request.

You can select the clearance request for processing in the “Select Clearance Request” page. You can reject the clearance request in the “Reject Clearance Request” page. You can create a clearance permit from the clearance request in the “Create Clearance Permit” page. Refer to the topic, “Create Clearance Permit – A summary of the activity” for more details. Reject a clearance request

You can reject a clearance request in this activity

• Go to the “Reject Clearamce Request” page.

• Enter the clearance request to be rejected, the date and time of rejection and the reason for rejecting the clearance request.

Approve the clearance request by creating a clearance permit for it

You can approve a clearance request by creating a clearance permit based on it.

• Go to the “Create Clearance Permit” page.

• Create a clearance permit from the clearance request.

Attach safety procedure to the clearance permit

You can attach safety procedures to the clearance permit in this activity.

• Go to the “Attach Safety Procedure” page.

• Attach a safety procedure to the clearance permit. You can also directly specify the hazards that will be encountered while carrying out maintenance activities on the equipment/location for which clearance is required and the precautions that must be taken to ward off the hazards.

View the clearance details

You can view the clearance permits that have been created for the equipment or location.

• Use the “View Clearance Details” page to view the clearance permit conflicts based on activity or on clearance permit.

View all equipment and locations for which clearance permit is raised

You can also view in this activity all the equipment and locations on which clearance permit are raised.

• Use the “View Referred Equipment/Locations” page to view the other equipment and locations on which clearance permit is raised.
